No, the fact that they are citizens is unremarkable.

Yes, however....in the discussion of illegal immigration, which is an issue important to all citizens, the added burden of a disproportionate number of incidences of any detrimental activity perpetrated by the illegal populace of the country is of more importance.

It's darned near impossible to find substance abuse treatment groups conducted in Spanish.

And who is footing that bill? We already pay for education. Do we really need programs that say "Obey the law and do not drive drunk, etc"

And why should they be? If you are here legally learn English or isolate yourself in your house. If you are here illegally don't let the door hit you when we slam it on your rear end as you exit the country.

El Pueblo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Some of their major corporate sponsors include Suntrust Bank, BB&T, Nationwide Insurance, Pepsi, and many others. They do get some government grants, and some grants from private foundations, and of course they welcome contributions from individuals.
Sorry I spelled it wrong in my previous post, you can't find it on google if you spell it that way! ;)

And yes, apparently we do need programs that say that. Did you watch the video?

And we could cut off our nose to spite our face. The state requires defendants charged with DUI to attend substance abuse classes, wouldn't it make sense to conduct them in a language the offender understands? The point of this is not to help them so much as it is to make us safer.

Try Mexico! If one is not willing to learn the accepted language, then possibly they should seek help from where they came.

We need to change our laws to match theirs. Seems that will be the easiest ;) .

The "class" my friend went to was nothing more than an education on how to avoid getting a second DUI. They were teaching absorption rates and tricks to get out of it. If we want to start teaching in other languages where does it stop? Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, German. If you start with alternative languages why not start with Lumbee and Cherokee.
