Mr. Price will be a good principle at Clayton Middle. I sure hate Mrs. Woodruff is leaving...she is AWESOME! She's a no BS priniciple, if you don't follow the rules, you don't go to her school. We need so many more principals like her!

    Congrats to Mrs. Johnson

She'll be great. She's a team builder who regards her teachers as professionals. I look forward to a dynamic beginning. It's a new day at Polenta.

I had her for English class in the 9th grade. As a student I didn't think she was so wonderful, but she was a tough teacher.

Ready and Craig, you might have been in class with my husband! What years did y'all graduate?

He idolizes Debbie (had her in 9th grade and for AP English in 12th grade) and was supposed to student teach at Clayton Middle next year. That might not happen now, we'll see.

She'll be great at whatever she does. I am kind of glad she will be in central office, we need more good folks up there.

There may well be more principal changes coming - we shall see.

I always read that as we need more administrators that do nothing for the students we are trying to educate.

Central Office folks are the ones who determine how we do what we do and what resources we get to do it. It is very important that people in touch with the "real world" be up there doing that. You wouldn't believe how many hats some of those people have and how many ways they are pulled by those different responsibilities. Dr. Parker may get the big bucks, but these people in central office do a load of work, 12 months a year, trying to keep up with all the new laws, new curriculum, new EC laws, new teachers, retiring teachers, changing laws for hiring teachers, mounting expectations and testingtestingtesting.

YES I am glad Debbie will be working there because she REALLY knows her stuff.

Yes I understand what happens in the Central Office. Pity that they have to work 12 months though. I am sure it is hard to justify staffing, budgets, and compliance with many laws. Nobody said it would not be high pressure, but they should expect it when they choose that career.
To bring a business perspective to the situation the Central Office is a cost center. They do not make the entity any money, but keep it running so that they continue receiving the revenue. It is alway wise to limit the overhead in a cost center. The revenue generators get the money and perks except when it come to tax payer revenue.
