The issue of the reality of God as purposed in Christ predates all you can only wish and suppose to be accurate.

You are spouting gibberish, improve your communication skills and try again.

    Hught,
You are correct. Many of our beliefs have derived from paganism. My point was that these young kids have no idea about the earlier mentioned relationship of "cutting" to religion or any ties to earlier beliefs etc.. It's something they've been shown or heard about and those that are having emotional issues might have a tendency to gravitate to this horrible problem for whatever reason. Such a sad topic and just one other thing to blame on our failing family structure, JMO.

But gibberish is all you can take in. Improving on my words would only frustrate you more.

Well obviously you are wrong again or I would not have asked you to improve your communication skills and I cant wait another 8 or so hours for you to be right again.

However, you haven't proven me wrong. You asking me to improve only speaks of your lack, not mine....as in, "you just don't get it" ....for reasons I believe to be willful.

Paganism is a johnny come lately on world history.

Might be wrong, but I think the original post was to ask if cutting could be an action that has historical value and if so, is there a correlation between present time versus past time? JMO, I think many problems and issues in society today have historical links/correlations. As far back as many verbal and written history can go we see some of the same issues/problems facing society today. Many correlations can be made between present and past history.

However, the only thing we have learned from history is: We have learned nothing from history.

Don't know where your coming from, but I've learned a lot from history. I tend to not make the same mistakes twice. To say we haven't learned from history is just so negative, sure we as a society have a tendency to make the same mistakes but not always, we have to believe that there's a lot of good still in the world or what would be the purpose of you and me even being here. Good versus Evil, always been there always will be. Stop with all the negative and you'll fine more happiness.

HUH? you must be using a much different definition of paganism, "Johnny come lately", and history to try to make this provable ....

Notice the time frame in which the Christian religion was formed in relation to the other religions if you have trouble understanding where the rest of us are getting our information ... not to mention a dictionary and a history book or three.

Ahh, but you assume this is a stopped clock which may not be the case. It could be a slow clock, which is right even less of the time and the instances of being right are much farther apart. Given the history of this poster, I would say there is a higher probability of the slow clock than a stopped clock.

Not at all. You just have no clue concerning God in Jesus Christ.
BTW the way, I ain't goin to even begin to explain it to you so you can think and say what you wish without rational thought. You would and will, regardless..

Well, I would rather be accused of having either one rather than having a handicap as yours, when attempting to understand life.... even your life.

I thought you were talking about religious practices. We know the Bible states that Jesus Christ was present at the creation, but I think it was considerably later that Christian religious practices began. Given all the O.T. references to Pagan religious practices, I think that has been around longer than Christianity.

However, the underlying issue is Jesus Christ. They would have it be that Paganism rules....It was here first.

Okay, this is never going to end. Same issue as "which came first? the chicken or the egg?". No matter your opinion, the two have been around forever and this has been a very long disagreement throughout history. Paganism is a broad term used to define many different sects or beliefs such as: Buddism or any religious act, practice which is not christian, jewish or islamic based. The authentic religion of ancient greece and rome (stone age) was this type of religion, based on many gods with only one chief god, based on foundations with mother earth, living creatures and nature-Celtic/Druid. Some sects believe in Jesus Christ, just don't put a lot of importance into his birth as the christian faith. Pagan is a latin term for country dweller that was used by the city folkin greece and rome. So, doesn't appear to be a winner here. To each his own.

Indeed, one supports creation while the other, evolution. But I guess that's no big deal that we need to understand and be concerned about.
