I think the point is the way the terms were used. Neither obese nor lesbian is a derogatory term in and of itself. But the phrase can only be understood as derogatory. Then she says she has nothing against lesbians and the obese.
And I was just being light hearted because way too many people get offended too easily so I was giving something to just smile or "relax" about... Just me!
I dont have anything against fat or lesbian people! I do however discribe her as a fat complaining lezbo, because hello she is! My god people its my own personal opinion of her!
Yea he has that "California" look Oh god I better not say that, it may be considered a derogatory term to some.
Well.....this fat complaining hetrosexual happens to like Rosie, although I don't think she's an exact fit for this job.
It tickles the sheet out of me when I see the baked wheat thins or whatever crackers with his silly grin. I like George! He gets my vote.
He did!! Correct on O Hurley.....I heard something recently about DO....a reunion with his brothers.....not sure why, but I think I saw it on ET.
How about Ryan Seacrest? How about Tom Bergeron? Chuck Woolerly? Wink Martindale? Isn't Alex Trebek ready for a change? The only thing about George Hamilton is his age. They need to get someone on there that plans to stay awhile. People will grow tired of too much transition and I don't think George Hamilton will stay very long. I personally think O'Hurley is perfect for the job. Lots of charisma, tall, mature, handsome...a very safe choice.
OK, that makes it much better  I see I was late coming to the party and am pleased that you all raised the flag. I think someone is in denial.
More or less. Well, personally, I like a woman with a "bit of meat on her bones". Because of that, though, I won't use it as a derrogatory term. But if someone calls you "that fatso that lives down the street" are you going to think they meant it as a compliment or as an insult? You can have your own personal opinion. Just don't expect us to believe that you can use those terms as derrogatory, and then tell us that you have no problem with them.
http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml Fill out the CBS feedback form, they say every message is read.
I think Bob Barker may have been a fine example of a classy celebrity who knew when to keep his political views to himself. I think he's a liberal, but I still like the show. Rosie is a whole different story. On her first day the show would lose half its audience.
seacrest: too cheesy/too trendy bergeron: locked in at abc with afv probly with a sweet multi-year deal woolery: eh, no. please. wink martindale would be great, but he's old, too trebek: too stiff/ "i'll take anal bum cover" for 1000 for your mother, trebek
GOOD NEWS!!!!! Rosie Says She Won't Replace Bob Barker Posted: 36 minutes ago NEW YORK — Rosie O'Donnell says she's out of the running to replace Bob Barker as host of "The Price Is Right." O'Donnell, a superfan of the CBS game show, said on her blog Friday that she had a "nice lunch" with the show's producers. Barker, 83, retired earlier this month after 35 years with the show, which is filmed in Los Angeles. Although O'Donnell has said she would love to fill Barker's shoes, the 45-year-old comedian has changed her mind. "Well, here's the thing: I don't really need a job," O'Donnell says in a video posted Sunday on her Web site. "I'm in a weird position. I don't need the money." "So to get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them across the country so that I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence, you know, job ... it just doesn't seem fair." O'Donnell lives in Nyack, New York, near New York City, with her partner, Kelli, and their four children. She recently left ABC's "The View" after a heated on-air squabble with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "You know, if they were able to do it in New York, it would be a different story," O'Donnell says. "But it looks like it's - ain't gonna happen." Barker told reporters at the Daytime Emmy Awards he had "no doubt" that O'Donnell would make a fine host for the show. But Barker told The Associated Press last week he never meant to endorse any potential host and has no role in choosing his replacement. "The Price Is Right" is on hiatus until the new season starts in the fall.
So, basically, the producers of the show told her, "Thanks, but no thanks". http://ancienthistory.about.com/library/bl/bl_aesop_fox_grapes.htm
They told her this a long time ago. We were never in any danger of Rosie ruining that show - the word came straight from Bob IIRC. I vote for William Shatner.
