They(the Clayton folks) usually do something on the 4th, I think at Municipal Park. Should be putting signs up around town soon...
Either on the course or passed out in the yard. Course we could be passed out on the course. But you do know that we need to burn some stuff as well. Craig
We always do Lake Benson also! We Love it! Anybody game for those of us 4042ers who are going to Lake Benson, finding a common spot to plant our chairs and blankets and watch the show? If so, I'll get some special balloons so everyone can find "the spot", and let everyone know what to look for....
I would love to. I will stop by and say hello if yall do that. I really dont know anyone on 4042. I have met harley (who is cool beans!) and I have met jennifer(who is cool beans!) and that pretty much sums it up. This is a great idea for yall!!!!! Go Magnolia, go magnolia!!!!
Lake Benson might be the way to go, get it out of the way the night before, and rest on the 4th...hmmm
4th at The Grove The sign for "The Grove" is in Benson - - at the Sing Grove. Here's a little info about it......... July 4, 2007 Please join us in the Singing Grove for our annual 4th of July celebration. This year we will be trying something new by giving some local folks the opportunity to showcase their singing talent. The first twenty people to register will be entered in a contest with the opportunity to win prizes that include recording studio time, a future performance in the pre-show of the Country Music Showcase at JCC, & cold-hard cash. The entry fee will be $15.00. More details will be available as we get closer to the 4th so give us a call if you are interested. The opening ceremonies will be held at 4 pm. After further introductions and sponsor recognition, Bensons Idol will begin at 4:30 pm. There will also be other entertainment available after the competition from 6:30 to 8 pm. There will be games that will help keep the kids entertained and vendors in the Grove selling hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, soft drinks, and water. As it has been in past years, the highlight of the celebration will be a spectacular fireworks display discharged from McLamb-Tart Road off of Highway 301South/Wall Street.
Thank you for the info. I saw the sign last year too and wondered where it was and what they had there.
We will probably be staying home and maybe grilling out a bit and spending some time in the pool. We all have to work the next day, so can't go to far and stay out too late.
Yep....we usually get a few fireworks, so we will do a little something I am sure, but it will be here and not out.
Yep, us too, my middle son and wife usually make a trip down to South of the Border before the 4th. Last year was fun at Cleveland cause Birdy was playing but the fireworks were kind of a disappointment - wish we could be at the beach - their fireworks are always so awesome.
