Take up photography ... got a digital camera? Take nature pics. Delete them if you dont like them.

Do you want a sit-at-home hobbie, or a go-out-and-do hobbie (or is it hobby ... I can never remember how to spell that word!! )?

Good Lord Woman! Go do grown up things!

See a movie you wouldn't take her to. Go out to lunch and order a fru-fru drink. Drive down to the beach just to pick up seashells.

I'm sure you can think of something!

    :)

That's called being a parent, and if you didn't miss her terribly, I'd wonder what was wrong with you....

Have fun with your girlfriends tonight though!

Call the JC Council on Aging and see if they need help delivering meals-on-wheels. You can simply drop off the meal, or better yet, this is the rare human contact many of the home-bound have. Stop in and talk for 15 minutes with a home-bound senior.

Reading, writing (fiction, non-fiction, greeting cards), stained glass, try a new type of exercise (yoga's a lot harder than it looks!), take a class at a local college (I'd love to take an American History class or Pathophysiology), teach a class in something that you are good at...we have women at my church who weave baskets, knit, make greeting cards or scrap-book, and they've taught the rest of us some of their skills... I like to do needlepoint, but the kits are kind of rare, so they're a little pricey. My parents are each taking music lessons: Dad/violin, Mom/piano. Have fun choosing!

That is typical of kids the first few days, she will be missing you soon - ah, gotta love being a mama.

While she is gone - get you a good big book, Stephen King's The Stand comes to mind or something similar, it will definitely take your mind off missing your daughter and be done by the time she comes home. My DH says when i get into a good book, the house would fall down and i would never notice:lol:
