In a late night last week (trying to watch bad television to help me fall asleep) I saw a commercial for a store in (Raleigh? Cary? Wake County, for sure) that bought clothes and accessories straight out without any consignment. I was not entirely lucid, mind you, and didn't write the information down (thinking I would surely remember it the next day.) No such luck, and I haven't seen the commercial again. Anybody know the name of the place and/or contact information? Thanks, ssmm
http://www.platoscloset.com/ Plato's Closet is a franchise that does this- I think they have at least one location in the Raleigh/Cary area. I'm pretty sure they are very particular about what they buy- the specialize in the trendy/designer clothes, mostly girls and juniors stuff. FWIW, we've had pretty good luck selling lightly used clothes on Ebay. The best way to do it seems to be to group like items together (same size/style, etc) so people don't have to end up paying $5-7 to ship a $5-7 item. If you have the time and are willing to give it a try, I'm pretty sure you'll get the most $$ this way. Kel
Thanks, Kel. Plato's Closet is exactly what I saw... I just couldn't remember the name. Yep- I've sold some ebay stuff, too... and give most to the thrift store operated by Garner Area Ministries. But with some of the nicer things that I have acquired, I thought I might give this a try. ssmm
there is a PLATOS at CrossRoads, beside REI. They only take name brand trendy labeled stuff, geared towards teens. Just FYI.
I hear the flea Market deal at Don Lee's sells pretty good, where else can you get a rusty drill, used boots and zippo in one place might as well add your clothes in the possibility of purchases
Then you can walk into Don Lee's and get a drink and nabs . I think thats called a rednecks shopping spree lol
