yeah I really feel safer flying because I had to take my shoes off or could not carry on more than 4 oz. of liquid......please we wasted billions of dollars and have nothing to show for it. The rights and liberties have gone out the window. Pretty soon the American Public will swallow their microchip for "safety and security"

I do understand the concept of private property and public property, do you understand the concept of whats right and whats wrong?

well, I feel safer then before 9/11 when we could walk on the airplane with just any and everything. Also there was a reason the 4oz rule, because they had conversations of terrorist acvtivity and explosive devices made out of liquids. Again, I rather carry my 20 oz bottle of water onto a plane, but evil/bad people have made us put a stop to this. It is hard to draw a line I guess as to when to trust a bottle of pepsi and when to not.

after billions and billions of dollars we are reactionary. Do you really think the terrorists are dumb enough to try liquids now? They have moved on to the next thing that we do not look for. The only reason the terrorists have not hit us again is they choose not to probably because they are enjoying seeing us tear ourselves apart.

They do not just "search" the car unless they smell pot, see an open bottle of alcohol, or things like that at a check point (or that is what they say and the excuse to "search")... So if I ride thru a check point and my inspection sticker expired 3 months ago and I have nothing crazy going on in my car then I should just get a ticket for the sticker. That does not mean I must get searched.... if they do then that is illegeal.

probably would help things......here is a beautifully written article about society and civilization. I am sure there are many on here that will disagree, but I am pretty sure old serversnapper would say "Rock On!!!!"

not true.....cops on a "drug checkpoint" once asked permission to search my car based on looks and the presence of a cooler. Too bad they could not find a judge to agree with their reasonable cause.

This is why it is good that they caught 15 drunk driver's but bad in how they did it.

Exactly! I've said it before and I'll say it again - If the laws were not set up to generate revenue, they'd take my license for a month if caught speeding. Hell, I can pay the court costs all day long, but I'd learn a hard lesson trying to get to work for a month for only a 64 in a 55.

And you should not be tested unless you have blood shot red eyes or some "LEGAL" reason to be tested... as in the smell of alcohol, or they ask how much you have had to drink and you say 4 beers and so on...

When I have been thru a check point and asked if I have been drinking and I said no and my eyes are not red, and I do not smell like a beer then I have NEVER been made to do a sobriety test. So that is the porbable cause for a test and search. If they just make you do it for the heck of it then it is not right or legeal. No matter what I am always ok with them trying to get drunks off the road! I want to feel a little safer when driving with my beautiful daughter and want to keep her around. I can not change the minds of those who disagree with check points as to my mind can not be changed to think it is a bad thing for a check point, that is all I am trying to say. There are good police and bad ones too... just like any occupation. When an officer make the laws up then they are wrong, but I see a check point as being legal.

seems we are surrounded by Anarchists on here. You guys are just a few dissenting opinions in objections to DWI check points. If the MAJORITY of people wanted them gone, then they would be. If it was such a hot topic issue then people would call their representatives in mass numbers and have legislation passed prohibiting them. Most people do not mind them at all, as most people have nothing to hide.
As for the comment on " If they ignored minor violations and focused only on drunk driving, I'd say they may have a legitimate position, but as it stands now they are abusing their authority and undermining public trust."

By what means? Enforcing the LAWS that were passed by YOUR representatives and doing their JOB! What is the point in having the laws if you don't enforce them? For revenue? haha, Let me tell you, LEO's do not see one cent from ANY fine or money that you pay out on a citation! Judges and lawyers maybe but thats a whole other story.

No! more of a revolutionist. The government does not listen to the people any more and hence my fear the tree of liberty must be refreshed and it appears to be coming soon.

perhaps you should read the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. It has nothing to do with the "War of Northern Aggression"
