Does anyone know who I can call that will take the left overs? I don't want to give it to the Salvation army or Goodwill so they can sell it. I want it to go to people who need these things. Some baby items and boys clothing and some ladies. Thanks

They are near the Garner Wal-Mart.

Basice Needs (40/42) does sell some donations but use the money to fund their programs AND give clothing vouchers to those in need.

Put something up on Craigslist, or call local churches. They are often looking for items for summer bazzars.

I believe`I read in the Cleveland post that they will have a community yard sale at the Cleveland 4th event. They were looking for donations. $ will benefit the athletic association (I think).

That is true. Donations are tax deductible and can be dropped off to the gym in the next couple of days.

The yard sale will from 7am to noon on July 4th.

To many people out there take for free to sell. That is not what I want.

If you do decide to give it away, take it to Basic Needs at 4042. Ron and Sandy give SO much to the community and run strictly off of donation and they are TOTALLY non-profit!

Is there a certain time and place when you can leave donations for them? I usually take my stuff to the Goodwill because somebody's always there to take it, but I would donate locally if I knew where to go and the hours.

You do know that these organizations do a lot of good with the proceeds from selling these items, don't you?

Most often the people doing the buying are also of modest wealth, therefore the organizations sell them for very cheap.

Basic Needs is in the back of the 'strip mall' beside Bojangles on 42. Turn in between Bojangles and the building and go behind it and follow it around, it sort of makes an L and it is at the end of the building. They are open Sat form 9-6 and Monday from 6-9. They are wonderful people and every dime they make goes back to helping those in need.

Yes I do I have given alot to them in the past. I just want to give them to someone who needs them, and they won't have to pay a penny for any of it. There is not alot, but enough for someone in need.

    Yep, that's exactly right!

I know the hours can be a bit weird, but they both work "real" jobs outside of Basic Needs and they are strapped to the max as it is.
