Hi Folks! I'm considering having a pool built for the backyard. I would welcome any advice or experience you have about... 1) In-Ground or Above-Ground? 2) What kind of prices should I expect? 3) Recommendations for builders in our area? Thanks in advance! JSGarner
For an inground, make sure you have an acre of land to get the correct permits if you have a septic tank in JC.
Whatever you decide to do, DO NOT call the guy that advertises on the classifieds section of 4042.com. His name is William Jordan Autry and the name of his company is JAspoolandspa. He took our money 2 weeks ago and installed an above ground pool for us. Before installation was complete the pool collapsed with around 10,000 gallons of water in it due to improper installation. He left screws out, most screws weren't torqued properly and he left other neccessary hardware out according to an expert we hired to access the damage. In addition we never received our pump and filter or lights that we paid for. His answer to our problem was "Just sue me". Its unbelievable that there are folks out there that can do things such as this to honest folks. I just want to save someone else the heartache and loss that we have experienced by giving anyone interested in buying a pool a heads up on this guy. Please give Capitol Pools in Garner a call. They are the best in the business. I just wish we had known that a couple of weeks ago.....
His answer to our problem was "Just sue me". What a JERK!!! I would spread his name all over the area and tell everyone just what he did. Maybe there is a lawyer lurking on these boards that would take this case and give him what he's asking for
Wow...thanks cjones. I really appreciate the info! I had seen their advertisement. Hopefully, you'll be able to recoop some of those $ you invested...and maybe michelle's right...maybe a lawyer lurking here might be able to help. Good luck! Thanks to you too, Kaci! We've pretty much ruled out an inground pool for a variety of reasons now. I would love to have one, but it just isn't in the cards.
prestige pools is really good as well. They are local but do pools all over Johnston county and the triangle
I live in a subdivision and there are 2 people that have ingrounds and I'm pretty sure they don't have an acre. I KNOW at least one does not. We all have septic. Why, may I ask, do you need an acre for an inground? We want to put in a pool, too, but I know we will haveto do an above ground.
Same thing happen to us, we called to get some help with installation and basically paid 300 bucks for nothing really.
Due to the drain lines, etc., as a general rule, JoCo requires at least an acre before they will issue a permit.
