Before I knew they were FF's dogs, in the past they've gotten out, and they came up to me in my yard. I didn't even know their names at the time and they seemed very friendly.

might want to try driving down Winston Rd. as well, a lot of very dense woods in that area and check out further down onto Cornwallis Rd., dogs have a tendency to just keep moving during storms, I'll check that area this afternoon unless you post they've been found. Good luck.

I drove around as much as I could, til a migraine forced me back to my cool dark house. :( I hope they've been found!!! I know I'd sure hate for my pups to get lost, especially during a storm.

My babies are home safe and sound!!!! I called the shelter here in Clayton this morning and someone had taken them there last night just as they were closing. Somehow they lost their name tags off their collars. The rings are still there, but their tags are missing. They were over by one of those subdivisions off of 42 down by the DMV. The guy that brought them said he had not problem and they came right up to him. I am so grateful for that and feel relieved that they were not out in the weather last night. Mu husband picked them up this morning.

Thank you so much to all of you that were keeping an eye out for them and passing information out about them. You guys are great! These guys are very loving animals and love people and kids. The lady at the shelter said they were great, so I am thankful.

Again words cannot express my gratitude for all you guys have done!!!!

Gosh, wish sometimes I had more time to spend on here with you all. Right now I know how much I miss my 4042 friends!!!!! It is so hard sometimes because with being on a computer all day at work, I don't want to get on one at home, plus the kids are on here all the time. Know I miss you guys and again, thanks for everything!!! (((hugs))) to all of you!!!

Does anyone have their dogs micro-chipped? I don't know too much about it, but today have been thinking about it, plus not sure where to have them done at or anything about it.

Dixie is microchipped, we got her from the Wake County Animal Shelter, and they had chipped her before we picked her up. Any vets office does it, just before you get the good one, I think its called Home Again. There is another one, and it doesn't give as universal a read on the chips with the different scanners that are out there (I want to say its the one that the Banfield/PetSmart uses.. but I'm not 100% on that).

Sometimes at a rabies clinic they'll do the microchipping for $25, which is substantially cheaper than any vets office will charge you.

Yippie!! So glad you found them and that they were safe and sound last night. I got bummed out when I just got home and didn't see them outside in the pen. So I was much relieved to see your post on here!! I know you and the kids must be tickled pink that they're back where they belong.

    :)

I had my dog micro-chipped as a puppy. I've never needed it, but the peace of mind was worth it. I'm not where you could have it done-I would check with the shelter or your vet. The 2 most common companies are AVID and Home Again. I've heard (on 4042.com :) not to get the ones at the vets at Petsmart (Banfield) as the scanners at the shelter or vets offices can't read them.

I'm so glad that you found them safe and sound :)

    Good news!
By all means call your vet and get those pups chipped. Usually costs $40 to insert the chip then close to $20 to register each dog with the service. Absolutely worth it as it is always better to be safe than sorry!

Glad that your kids are home, safe and sound. Another plug for the microchip, my furry kids are chipped. We got them done at a JCAPL event a few years ago- cost about $25-30 to get them done and then paid the registration fee to Home Again to register them. You cannot feel the chip unless you know exactly where it is on the shoulder-it feels like a little grain of rice under the skin and the dogs did not cry when they got it inserted. They yelped for a second like they do when they get a vaccine, but that was all. Your vet can do it in just a few minutes.

Beautiful pups! Glad they are home safe!

Yeah, definitely recommend chipping them. One of mine has a chip and a tattoo, so worried I'd loose him.

I have noticed there are alot of fliers out today with missing dogs. Those storms must have scared all the dogs in the county. My baby hides when it storms shes inside and still hides in the laundry room at the first sound of thunder.

I have all 4 of my cats microchipped even though they never go outside. You never know when your pet might be spooked to bolt and end up in a kill shelter. HomeAgain gives a discount when you register multiple animals.

I am so glad your babies are home safe.... I think microchipping is the way to go. Working at a shelter, I know we scan EVERYTHING that comes in the door, even tiny kittens!!!! Then when/if their time is up, they get another scan to double (or triple) check...

My dogs and cat are microchipped ... I was just thinking the other day, that I needed to double check and make sure all of their information was correct on file because one of the dogs and the cat has moved with me several times and I'm not sure I've notified the microchip company of the latest/last address and phone numbers. The things we forget til it's too late!!

SO glad you found the furbabies ... that they were safe and sound, and didnt have to spend the night out in the severe weather!! Thank God for kind and caring citizens who look out for our pets!
