Well, I did what I said I wasnt going to do ... sat down and started reading it. Ended up reading about half of it the first day. OOPS. I kept trying to take breaks ... would put it down and walked away for awhile ... I had told myself over and over that I was NOT going to read it straight thru.

I'm such an addict!! Is there a support group for this????

lol, I just started reading the first one, I have never read any of the books and I love reading! I have seen all the movies, but never read them. I finished the first one in two days, and that is with working as well. I had to be at work at Sam's at 6am yesterday and we have it for sale and I got one in the morning...good price on them and we had no waiting line..I did start the book last night and made myself put it down about 1am lol..I want to know who dies in this one..and I was trying to cheat and someone at work made me stop haha..
So don't share what you read lol, cause I haven't gotten that far on the 7th one.

I don't read Potter book series, but I found myself checking into web spoilers and boy, you're in for surprises! No, I'm not going to spill it here. :)

Voldemort seduces Hermione over to the dark side and they are currently running several porn sites....www.weeyatchesandbeeyatches.com receives over 1000000 hits a day.

sorry to spoil it for you.

Hee hee ... I wont spoil it ... but they story line so far, just in general, has been GOOD!!!

When the books first came out, I was determined NOT to read them ... too hyped up, too commercial. Everyone kept telling me I'd love them, and I hate that ... it gives me a preconceived opinion. It was right before the third book came out that I picked up the second book on a whim. Read it in one night. I was hooked. Ordered the first book from Amazon.com the next day, special one-day delivery, read it ... then re-read book 2 ... then bought book 3 ...

THEN the obsession began, cuz I now have most of the books in paperback, hardback, CD, .mp3 and .pdf formats. Plus, american version and british versions (I spent some time overseas in England, so picked up the paperback copies over there to read - the text is mildly different, so it was interesting to see the changes).

Told ya I need a support group. You're all lucky I dont run around with robes and glasses and a wand, yelling "Avada Kedavra" .......... ;)

Took my daughter to the pool and I spent like 3 hours reading it, and I'm a fast reader as well hehe...I'm loving it so far..I hate that I didn't read the others first cause I'm know I'm reading stuff now that I didn't know that is in the other books..but I will read them after..I just couldn't wait...

The first book came out in Sept 1998. Its some odd 9 years later. Dont think hype usually lasts this long does it?

They are good solid books and well written.

I just finished it. It was great! Best one yet and that's a good thing since it was the last one.

Too bad the US only gets one geeky looking cover unlike the UK which actually has two different covers targeting both children and adults.

Did you all hear bob this morning on g105. He has a point. Point was, witchcraft and how about reading the bible instead. You can bring a dang harry potter book to school but not a bible......

Actually, it's not true. You can bring a bible to school. Or a Koran, or any other text that is sacred to you. You just can't force it on anybody else.

That's true. My oldest son carried a small Bible in his back pocket for years at WJHS and my middle son has a small "backpack" Bible that he carries. You're free to read it...just not share it...or try not to get caught. Most JCS teachers will probably turn a "blind eye" and let it pass anyway.

    Hooked too

I too have bought into the Harry Potter obsession. I bought the first book because I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I just finished the last book . Well done!

Actually, during reading you can not take it out because you may offend others.(the bible, that is)
