Do any of you guys watch the Gene Simmons: Family Jewels series on A&E? I started watching this some time ago for entertainment value, and found myself rather amazed. Gene Simmons is quite the character, no doubt....but he is an amazing father. He and his wife Shannon have two teen kids, and they really are an amazing family. He handles his kids with a firm but gentle hand, and they very much love and respect both of their parents. There are none of the dysfunctional issues that we saw with the Ozbournes, and the Simmons kids are good, normal kids that share their parents sense of humor and revel in the closeness of the family. They aren't loud or disrespectful like the Ozborne kids were. They are a family that has a lot of humorous dynamic that they use to get through crisis, and they are all quite close. I would recommend watching this series. It's not only funny (Gene Simmons has a great sense of humor), it also makes you feel good to watch a family like this.
we love that show. those kids are funny. smart funny. good family dynamics. on the other hand, it's not everybody who can live with a guy who hosts porn awards shows. he has fun with his whole rockstar thing, but it's very obvious that they all love each other very much....
I watch! (And you kow I am a firm beliver in NOT Watching TV!) I had no idea Gene was such an Ultimate Business Man. Yes, I knew KISS was all over the map marketing wise but I had no idea he was 'the man' behind so much of that. ROCK ON!
I have seen the show and I love how Shannon and the kids knock him down a few pegs when his ego gets too big. :lol:
I don't he and Shannon are not married from my understanding. They simply had the two kids together and maintain their household as such. I like watching it and I think his son is really witty. Of course, Gene Simmons is likeable, but blatantly arrogant. He seems to take it in stride though when people don't know who he is, instead of pouting and/or raising hell. The difference between him and Ozzy are notable. Simmons handles his own business affairs and Ozzy seems like he could barely tie his shoelaces without Sharon Osbourne. Plus, Simmons claims he's never been drunk or used drugs. Holy Cow! I can't believe that I'm talking up Gene Simmons like he's the epitome of morality...the KISS demon of all people!!
We watch it too! I think it is so funny! And they do have a nice family. You can tell how important they are to each other. And I like how Gene really loves his Mom too!. I recorded the camping show from last night but have not watched it yet.
I like the show where Shannon cut Gene off till he lost weight, and he ended up paying that hotel guy to bring him food and a tv :lol: that was so funny!
Been a long time since I've heard that one!!! Did anyone else from this board go to the KISS concert that was held in Dorton Arena back in the 70s???? What a way to spend a Saturday night...... BTW, the TV show "Family Jewels"....its one of our favorites....we TIVO every episode so we can all keep up.
luv it Yep-my family and I are all addicted.They have put up with my membership in the KISS army forever-but now they see Gene as he really is-and think he's hilarious!Nick is great-and its hard to believe Sophie is only 14.Its the only show we DVR and all watch together!
We love that show!!! We watch it when we can. I laughed at the fact he says he has been Happily "Un" Married for 23 years.
