Ok I have been to Myrtle Beach a million times and I have done just about everything there is to do there. I was wondering if anyone has been within the past year and has done something really fun or seen a really good show. We are headed that way in a few weeks and I wanted to start planning some activities!
We were there last week and its pretty much the same ole stuff....just MORE of it! We didn't go to any of the shows (kids not interested) we went out to eat a few nights, went to Broadway on the Beach and walked around. Dont' eat at the Hard Rock Cafe there...by far the worse overpriced meal we had all week! We did try the Bonefish Grill for the first time and it was delicious! Especially the Bang-Bang shrimp appetizer....yummy! :-D
Yeah, I would prefer to go elsewhere for vacation, but the teens still find it 'the place to be' so we go for them. Plus its close, with the new I40 that goes around Wilmington, it only took us about 2 1/2 - 3hrs to get home. Next yr I'd like to go to Daytona, or somewhere like that, northern part of Fla.
Have you been to Hilton Head? That is a nice "grown up" and relaxing vacation spot! Then only an hour from Savannah (and Paula Dean place) lol
We went Bike Week. MB is okay, but for beach, etc. the Outer Banks ROCK! Best Restaurant I've been too in a long time is: Landry's Seafood House Broadway at the Beach Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 (843) 444-1010 http://www.landrysseafoodhouse.com/ We were with a group, so we ordered a lot of different dishes and everything I had was DELICIOUS!
Yea I agree with you as far as the beach, we have a house at Atlantic and I love it! But we like to get away from that and do the MB thing every couple of years just to see whats going on
Have to agree with the comment about Hard Rock Cafe, way too loud of a place for me. I just don't like to have to yell over the music to talk to the person next to me, that's been my experience. We did a tally of the money spent on a vacation at MB (this year and last year) and compared it to one spent at Universal Studios Florida (4 yrs. ago), found that there was not much difference in the total spent. We've checked the current prices for hotels, current park tickets, calculated the gas and was surprized how close the cost was. So, next year we have decided to hit the road for Universal, we have older kids, only one left at home and that's were they'd like to go, had a great time last trip and this time they'll be old enough to go off on their own, although I doubt they will , seems are money is funnier to spend . I lived in Florida for 5 years and we have family in Tampa and West Palm Beach areas, might check out Busch Gardens. It's amazing how cheap the hotels are there and not to mention they still have happy hour:mrgreen: .
Ok, since you won't be using your house at Atlantic beach....can I use it while you're gone LOL!!   Just kidding!
We went to MB about a month ago and saw Le Grande Cirque at the Palace Theater at Broadway at the Beach. It was excellent and the girls were mesmerized. I was very impressed and highly recommend the show. There are $1 off coupons in the coupon books at the vistors center.
Hmm forgot about that, the first year that opened up we tried to go and it was all sold out! We did see a couple of those Cirque shows in Vegas and loved them!
