I can't stand to be hot!! In the winter, 65-68...max. I would much rather be cold than hot, anyday.

I keep mine on 78-80...with ceiling fans. I'm not there most of the time though except at night. I think that's comfy unless I'm having my own private summer, then I kick it down a notch to cool things off a bit.

77 in the summer, 67 in the winter.

Funny Thermostat story. I was working in Charlotte doing a First Union Stock trading floor renovation. We added "fake" digital thermostats on every other column, so the people could turn it up or down to think they had some control, but they were hooked to nothing. The managers said they had NO complaints about temp once the fake controls were installed.

I am in a brand new building on campus, and they did the same thing with the 'fake thermo boxes'....but this naturally curly headed girl, she knows when the temperature isn't set on 'hanging meat', the 'frizz' does not lie. ;)

But I think alot of people do have it in their heads....just knowing that someone's thermo is set at 75 or higher, makes me break out in a sweat. ;)

Ours stays at 77 and is very comfortable. We are surrounded by really tall trees so we're pretty well shaded plus really good insulation. In the winter we keep it on 70 during the day and 68 at night.

Ok, guess i am not the norm on here - i usually have it set at 78 during the summer but after my last electric bill, i bumped the thermostats up to 80 and told everyone they had to deal:lol: Now if i have company over that actually comes in the house (HG, you know what i mean:lol:) then i will lower it to about 75 or 76 for that time only. Oh yeah, i do have ceiling fans running.

In the winter during the day i set it at 68 and may bump it up to 72 if it is a really cold day but usually not, just turn on the fireplace and it heats the whole house up.

    i know, i know, i am cheap:lol:

This summer I've kept it on 77-78 ... except for those moments where I thought I was nearing spontaneous combustion. (I hate summer!)

And I am proud to say, my bill has averaged about $40 cheaper compared to this time last year.

    No coupons either.

I keep ours at 79 during the day, and set it at 81 during the night. I don't find it hot in the house at all, hmmmm.... I hope my thermostat is working:confused:

Good Lordy ya'll sure love to spent the MONEY on AC!!!

We keep the AC on 80-82, with the fans on. Our trick - if you are too hot, just step outside... 95+++ makes 80-82 feel cool. An hour on the tractor or at the pool will make 82 feel GREAT!!!

In winter, before DS arrived, we had the programable therm set on 65 from 6-7am and from 6-9pm, then turn OFF. Now Ds get a bit more heat, but not much more. We also wear seasonal clothes in the house. Noone runs around in shorts & a tank top in January.

I am not giving our hard earned $$$$$$ to Progress Energy! Not much of it anyway!

I keep mine about 74 to 76 depends on what the temp is at night. I keep all the blinds closed as well to keep the heat out...it helps...

Mine has never gone over 100 and that was just last month..lowest is about 70. That is in a 1400 sq foot house..not bad.
