Brand New to NC and the 40/42 area - Need some reccomendations, please

Hi everyone!

I hope you won't mind all my questions. Please forgive me, I'm a newbie all around. To the forums and to the area. I'm feeling just a bit overwhelmed, as I have lived in Northern Virginia my whole life, and have only moved a few times total. So a big move like this is very foreign to me. My family will be moving down right before school starts. I have an almost 7 year old and a 22 month old. The house we are moving into needs a little maintenance. My husband is going down next week to do/coordinate some of the work. Can anyone recommend people/companies for the following services?

) Heating/Air-conditioning/duct cleaning - check out the heating/air and
clean the ducts

2) Plumber - to get some estimates on some work

3) Electrician - to get some estimates on work

4) Hard wood floor person - want to see what options are

5) Local kitchen/bathroom remodeling place

6) Local Tile/Rug store.


I'm also going to need to find new medical services. Can anyone recommend

1) a family dentist

2) a pediatric dentist

3) A family or general practitioner doctor.

4) A pediatric doctor.

5) An ob/gyn

For both, I recommend Dr. Folden Lee. Dr Lee lets you stay with your kids in the exam area, and filled two cavaties on my 11 year old with no meds or pain!

Horizon Family Medicine is on hwy 42 as you go into Clayton. They see all ages.

Drs. Calamos and Marsh are great dentists. (corner of Hwy 42 and Guy Road as you get to Clayton)

For any remodeling, David Doucet at HD Construction 868-0695 is WONDERFUL.

I have heard Riccobene is also a great dentist locally, so I would check him out for dentistry. My child will be going to see him very soon.

Woohoo, another VA girl joining the bunch:-D There are quite a few of us from VA that have moved to this area and really love it, in the 7 years i have been here it has become home and i cannot imagine living anywhere else - i am sure you will feel the same way in no time:-D What part of our area are you moving to? That would help the recommendations for the services you need.

On the dental front, i wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Riccobene for both the adults and children in your family - my whole family really loves him and you can feel his true caring for people with each and every visit.

Flooring - Rainbow Home Interiors http://www.rainbowhomeinteriors.com/ She will always beat out the cost of home depot or lowes. They come to you and measure and show options, yes the will come out to the Cleveland Area.
