Mr. Ice Cream Truck Man, You would get more business on our street if you didn't wait until 8:00-8:30 PM to drive down it. Many of us have young children who are going to bed at that time. We heard you last night as we were tucking the little one into bed. It is disappointing for all of us to hear you but know that we cannot come out and get any ice cream at that hour. Just thought you should know.
Funny thing about the ice cream truck. Night before last DH said to me to go get some ice cream - not even 2 seconds later we heard the ice cream truck. Woo Hoo didn't have to drive anywhere! It was funny to me so ya better laugh!
Call me crazy, but we NEVER buy food products for our children from a random guy who drives down our street at varying hours in a beat up truck with christmas music playing! Does anyone really know who the Ice Cream Man is??? If something happened, would you ever be able to find/identify this guy again? It has always freeked me out so now when the kids hear him coming they always say, "Here comes the Freaky Ice Cream Truck"! Ha ha. Then we go inside and get some of the ice cream we already have in freezer. They still get their ice cream, of course!
He has been around here 3 times between 5:45 and 7:30. A more regular schedule would work for us. But 7:30 is pushing it... that is my Crazy Mommy time... making sure butts are scrubbed and books are read. Bed time here is (supposed to be) 8:30.
You actually eat pre-packaged ice cream??? Do you know how that stuff was made? Do you know what ingredients are in it (No, not what's listed on the package, but the actual ingredients that the FDA "allows" but doe not require to be listed such as rodent hairs and roach droppings)? How can you be sure of the sanitary practices of those who work at the ice cream factory?
Same goes for processed meats like hotdogs, etc. I don't eat that crap, watched a special on 20/20 a long time ago and it showed rats falling in the vats before the hotdogs were pressed out....YUCK!
How can you be sure of anything unless you do it yourself...... thank you Mr. board police for educating us
I just wish they would come at normal times too...try explaining to a cranky 4 year old that he cannot have ice cream b/c he's in bed at 8:25 when the ice cream man comes...it's a special treat for him, so he thinks when he doesn't get it that he's been bad! Mr. Ice Cream Truck Man, please come between 6 and 7:30...that is all! I will patron you during those times only. K
All my life I have eaten ice cream from an ice cream truck and guess what---------I AM STILL HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I know where he lives! The ice cream truck driver that comes through our neighborhood lives right on Highway 50 close to 1010. The truck is parked right in the driveway... so if we ever got sick ~ I'd know where to go knocking! However... $2.50 for a soft ice cream cone is too expensive! What happened to the good ole days where you can a fudgcicle for a quarter? hahaha!
No freakin kidding...I am thinking....GAWD....is there not ONE thing that is sacred anymore? one thing that can't be ripped to shreads? just one?
I got ice cream from the Ice Cream Man when I was a kid too. But if he had looked like this pic I probably would have passed. ...Hmm... maybe I should show this pic to the kids to deter begging for a chance to stop the tinga-linging truck.
The last one that came thru our neighborhood had kids working out of it...which was pretty cool...Plus, they were cheaper! My son got a HUGE popsicle and it was only$1.50. K
Yeah....that's the guy! Clif, didn't you know that I made the ice cream myself? I own the cows who provided the milk (they live in the laundry room). I grew the food the cows ate from seed passed down through 20 generations (no genetic engineering here) and I own a sugar cane field as well. I also have a salt lick in the backyard.
Our icecream man drives slow enough, but when he circles around he doesn't pause, so any kids who hear him and want ice cream usually don't get any - unless their parents have their money out and waiting. Advice to the ice cream truck drivers - stick to a time period - like within a half hour - so people can be ready for you and take your time! You'll get a lot more business that way.
