I've found that "boring" and "by the book" people just haven't had many people open up to them. It's a vicious cycle. A person seems distant, so people distance themselves, causing the person to become more distant, etc...

Try opening up. Invite her to lunch. If y'all enjoy lunch, try inviting her out to drinks (on a Friday after work, of course).

In any event, as long as she's not adamant about not being part of the fun, include her in whatever fun you might come up with.

Clif, I have to agree with you on this one too :shock: One of my closest friends is like that. It took a lot of initiative on my part, but I'm so glad I took the time to really get to know the "real" person, behind the book.

 

I do try!! I am a very open and friendly person and she is just there like a blob. I mean I know it could be ALOT worse, but she is so diffrent than our last supervisor that just left last month!
