I can't wait! :-D CLEVELAND -- Five tenants have leased storefronts in a shopping center that is on schedule to open in November. Middle Creek Commons, at the intersection of highways 50 and 42, already includes a 49,000-square-foot Lowes Foods. It will be a “FreshSmart” store, emphasizing fresh produce, meat, seafood, baked goods and flowers. Also, the store will offer a deli with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. Middle Creek Commons will include another 25,000 square feet of space for 15 to 20 retail shops. The shopping center also includes three out-parcels. Wachovia has signed on to occupy one of those. Chris Widmayer, vice president of developer Regency Centers, said Cingular Wireless, Barefoot Salon, Lee Spa Nails, China Wok and 2 Cousins Italian Pizza will joins Lowes in the shopping center. The pizza restaurant will move from the McGee’s Crossroads community. “I think the real story here is that this is going to be the nicest grocery store in that neighborhood,” Widmayer said. “I think it will generate a lot of excitement for the neighbors.” To date, construction is running ahead of schedule. Widmayer said workers are putting the facades on the buildings and doing last-minute finishing touches. Although the county could use more rain, the drought has aided construction crews, Widmayer said. “We’re one of the few people that are happy there is a drought,” he said. “It has helped our construction schedule move along faster than we expected.” Widmayer is negotiating leases with four other shops but still has plenty of space left to fill. “What we would like to bring to the neighborhood is an array of tenants for that market,” he said. “I think at the end of the day we will end up with a mix of tenants that the neighbors are very pleased with.”
YAY! I am so excited about this, I live right up the road and am ready for them to bring it on! I'm thrilled Wachovia is coming, I hate that tiny one at 40/42, and now I'm just waiting to hear about a video and dollar store coming, and I'll be all set.
Come on Dollar General!!!! Open up a bigger store than the one at 210!! Or, how about a Dollar Tree the size of the one in Smithfield??? Woo HOO!
Wonder what will go in where 2 Cousin's currently is. I would love to see a Dollar Tree like the Smithfield one. I'm wondering if one will go in when (if) the WalMart gets built.
Although I am very excited that the project is coming, I find it hard to believe that it is ahead of schedule! It was projected for Fall of 2007...It still has a LONG way to go. I guess we will see. I would love a few more restaurants, a Japan Express, Starbucks, or Brueggers would be great!! Although I do support the local businesses, I still have my favorites at these shops.
Maybe where FL is now, (when it has to close due to lack of business).....Sorry LOL! Just kidding!!:-D :-D
A Wachovia, that's a disappointment. I was hoping for a Nations Bank. Do we really need more Dollar Stores, Chinese resturants, nail salons, hair salons, etc.? I second the Starbucks, Bruegger's or Einstein Bagels, how about a Five Guys? A 24/7 vet service would be fabulous. How about a diner? something like "The Original Pancake House" or maybe "The Silver Diner". A Trader Joe's would be great too. Wishful thinking.
Two Cousins isn't moving - the article is a misprint - see the separate thread started by Carlo - he heard about the error in the paper and about the discussion on the board about it. The other good news is they are opening an UPSCALE Italian eatery - just a bit fuzzy on whether IT is what's going in at 42/50 or if it's somewhere else. . .if it's in the county, it will be worth the trip though.
our 3rd place is named La Piazza and it will be in the new lowes shopping center on 42/50 it is not going anywhere else in the county:lol: we named it different because we are going for a "different" theme it will have a full bar and formal upscale environment the finer details are in the works
There's a place called Headquarters there, it's on the Lowes side, not the La Piazza side. I've never been there, so not sure what exactly they do, but it is definitely open, opened the same weekend as Lowes I think.
I'm curious if anyone knows of anything else coming. I know Wachovia is, but they haven't started it yet, and I know of the others with the signs in the windows. Does anyone know of any others coming, rumors?
