OK, I was listening to the radio this morning, and heard something I could not hardly believe. Now, I know Cary has some strict ordinances, but this one...?

If your garage faces the street, you cannot leave the garage door open for more than 10 minutes.

Wow, no wonder we moved to this area :)

yea they do! and you have to have the color of your house and door approved before you can paint it, if its a diffrent color than white or beige!

Someone called the HOA on us because we had one of those Pack-Rats in the driveway. It was delivered on Monday and the homeowner got the letter on Thursday!

Luckily my sister and her DH came and we unloaded the pack rat in 3 hours.

The Pack Rat sat in our driveway at the old house for about a week and no one said anything and the neighborhood was M-U-C-H nicer than where we are.

how in the world can a town tell you how long to keep your garage door open? until they pay my mortgage AND my electric bill, my door stays open when i like and as long as i like!

oh the trouble of keeping up appearances.

    What?!

Ours sat in the driveway 2 weeks before it was completely empty and we called to have it picked up. The neighbors didn't call the HOA on us, they came over and offered to help us unload!

Dang, HG. You have to be there a year?? Gotta a spare beer fridge there ;) ?

Well, I don't like seeing peoples garage doors open anyway - it's a security issue. Anyone could just walk right it - that happened in my old neighborhood to someone.

Please for me - don't leave the garage door open. I love you girl!

But for Cary, its an appearance thing, not safety issue. If your garage opens to the side (not the street) you're 'allowed' to leave it open longer....... T wouldn't live in a place like that!

aaah, right back at ya lovey!

fyi, i do not leave ours open. too many stray cats that are looking to get in.

i too think that the cary thing is not for safety but for appearances. utterly ridiculous.
