The house is still sitting there so they haven't moved it yet. It's up on the thingy's and hooked to the truck though.

They moved that one on Old Drugstore that was otherwise going to oddly be in the middle of Adam's Pointe recently too. Hope it found some wide open land again!

They moved an old house down Cleveland School Road on Sunday. I passed it at the intersection of Cornwallis and 1010. I rode down to NC50 then over to Don Lee's, Raleigh Road then Polenta. Ran into them again there at the intersection of Polenta and the road DR Wells is on. Either they were really slow or I was fast.

I can just hear the phone call now.....

"Honey, I am running a bit late. I am stuck behind a house"

The house from 201/50 is being relocated to its new 12 acre lot on Stephenson Road. The home will be renovated & then lived in.

The land that it has left from was still under talk. It will be rezoned for commercial hence the idea of a commercial building going there

Cool. I wonder what is the cost for something like that.

My guess is that the house would be free, or almost, just for someone to move it off the land. Saves on demolition/landfill costs when developement time comes.

No way that the company moving the house is doing it for free. :?

From folks that I know that have gotten a house this way, basically the house is free they just have to pay to move it.

True, but I am talking about the cost in moving it. 3 or 4 thous?

not a bad deal if you have land?

I would think easily 20 or 30 grand to move it.

I'm sure, that is a big risk moving something like that...I know to move a trailer its around 5 or 6 grand and it is much easier than an actual house..
