Never tried it. Is it really as good as the hype about it?

    I love it!!!

You go online to their website, pick how many meals you want (3, 6 or 12), pick out a "session" (day/time) you want to go to and you just pay for it online.

When your session comes up (we have one tomorrow), you show up with a large cooler or laundry basket (if you have a short drive home). You sign in, grab an apron and go to each station. The station has a recipe of the meals above it. For instance, we ordered the herb chicken. In the station, there is a ziploc bag with 6 pieces of chicken. We are a family of three so I split the chicken into two bags. This way, we have two meals. Next, I put together the ingrediants. Everything is right in front of you with labels, and the appropriate measuring cup/spoon. Just mix the ingrediants together, but it in a separate ziploc bag, put the heating instructions on the bag and voila! You're done! You put completed meals in the large freezer, wash your hands and move on to the next one.

We usually order the 12 meal session. Each meal, we get 2-3 meals out of it so when we leave, we have a total of at least 24 meals. We get home, put them in the deep freezer, then take them out in the morning to defrost in the fridge. I come home that evening, put the chicken (or whatever) in the oven and 10-15 minutes later, dinner is ready!
NO DISHES!!! (they clean up after you there!)

I really like this one because you get sides. Tonight, we had ham with a cranberry glaze (so good!) with egg noodles and broccoli that came with it.

Our normal grocery bill is about $500-600 a month. We spend $220 a month on 24 meals. It saves us alot of money!! :)

    Check it out!

It sounds good, but I dont spend much more than $200 a month for my family of 6!! I would love it maybe for a new baby, or if I was out of commission. I guess I am too cheap.

I've thought about doing it, but there are only a handful of lowfat meals available.

Ahh, that would be a hinderance for me then. Also, there's only me now (and an occasional half pint). That session would probably last me 3 months! Lost my deep freeze when I moved out so have a small freezer now.

that is an awesome idea for a baby gift, or a condolence gift, or sickness....I, like SouthernBorn, can't utilize it personally. All that stuff is loaded with sodium and fat too. What a great idea for sure for a gift! Thanks for sharing. :-D

Well, the one I mentioned actually has Weight Watcher points listed. :)
    If you follow that program.

I don't do WW's . I just use my head! Balanced Nutrition, minimal suger, no salt, exercise. Scary! Those programs don't work for a lifetime, as we all know. ;)

"Programs" never work for a lifetime. If you do it correctly, however, the change in mindset will last a lifetime. The reason they fail is because people see them as a diet and not a lifestyle change.

Do they prepare the meals for you or do you do it yourself?

Yep that's what I do as well. Anyone can loose weight, keeping it off once lost is the hardest part.

very true, but WW tells you up front if you are looking for a diet it will not work, it has to be a lifestyle change. The reason most people like WW is for the support and accountablity of it

Me too, but I've thought about getting them for those nights I don't want to cook (when I eat a salad and everyone else eats whatever they fix themselves) and fixing it for the kiddo's, but then I think well I've got a freezer full of LC and stuff like that for those nights, and the kids like them and they are healthy.

A friend and I are going to try this next month (easylife meals)...i'll let you know how I like it. I am also very frugal, but also don't have a lot of time. Cost seems pretty good, cheaper than eating out for sure. They have a 1-time special for first timers, $39 for 3 meals, each meal serves 4-6. Looks interesting and fun anyway.
