Thursday is a teacher development day, from what I understand all the teachers have training that day. There are 4 of these days this year.

they get out at 1:30 on Thursday....not much time for 'developing' ;)
it's new this year, the 1/2 day thing.....I think I will email the teacher's and see what they say the new 'half day release days' are.....

    I shall report back.:p

I was told 1:00 at my school. I guess different schools are having different release times.

Just heard back from one of the teacher's...

SB, correct on the Staff Development she didn't say what that consisted of though, just the early release was so the teacher's didn't get home so late afterwards. Car riders are being released at 1pm, and 1:30 for the bus riders. :)

The recorded msg we got from the HS said they would be released at 1:30. I would imagine the middle school would be 1:00pm since they start earlier than the HS for the buses to run their route. The elementary schools at 1:30pm because I think they're on the same schedule at the HS. I think it's on the CES sign out by the road too.

    Woohoo Mule Days!

DH and I were talking about the possibility of loading up the truck and going crusing, you know, for old times sake?

How many of y'all use to cruise Benson back in the day? I literally LIVED for Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights!

BUT it is allowed during MD weekend. My son and his friends have the best time! (Glad they stopped it tho.....they'd be down there all the time! Plus gas is way too expensive to waste sitting in traffic!) :-D

I would... when my parents didn't have me under lock, key, buried under the shed, in the dark... I usually went with a friend of mine that my parents didn't know I went with:shock::-D:twisted:

Oh and hubby will prolly want to take his hot rod down there... of course

Wow talk about a blast from the past Jen! I only went a few times...I was from Wake County (Garner) and we were way too cool to go cruising in Benson....but we just had to go a few times to see what it was all about. The darnest part about it all is that I ended up marrying a good ole Johnston County boy.

I wonder, since a lot of us are somewhat close in age, if we ever passed one another while "crusin"? ...

    Stranger things have happened...

You took the words right out of my mouth. Nothin' says "Mule Festival" better than Rednecks, Bud Light, and Confederate flags flying from the back of pick-up trucks (being driven by said drunken rednecks). Just like every year, I'll wait down at the Mickey D's for my band student to get done with the parade and then make a bee-line back to civilization.

    Cruising Benson

I cruised Benson, Selma, Pine Level and Shoneys in Raleigh back in the day. At least we were not out doing drugs and the things they do now days. Oh yeah gas was 35 cents a gallon then.

I don't remember what the price of gas was but I do remember picking up soda bottles for gas money and cigarettes were .50 a pack.
