Not sure, but have anyone seen the land clearing on 401 in Garner close to the Mayflower restaurant? That's a BIG clearing. What's going on there?

Yes, I was told it is the Garner TV & Appl. Saad Family developing the new shopping center/strip & ther ewill be a BANK there too (Corner of 70/Loop/Yergan Rd) They do nice stuff!
Saad is the psych in the TV complex....and his sons own a kart racing gig in garner as well. good family.
It is a Super WalMart. I went to the Garner Planning & Development meeting when it was held for this. The plan is to essentially build a new Walmart with better lights, more security and such...essentially a fresh try. They want to eliminate the criminal element and riff-raff associated with Garner Station, where the current Walmart is. Garner required a lot of solid obligation on the lights and security for the Walmart and the rest of the strip mall being built there. They plant to lure tenants with the new security and no loitering ordinances that will be part of the new strip mall. We'll see. The current one has become a cess pool.
Like we don't have enough banks in a few mile radius in that area: Wachovia Bank of America BB&T Crescent Bank Northern State Bank Southtrust SECU (2) This new one (whatever it will be) It's starting to look like little Charlotte.
