Hey Kaci and everyone else looking for a good church... yeah, I'm the pastor, but I assure you what I say is exactly what you will hear from my people too. Calvary Faith Center is one of the most loving, unstuffy, real, caring church around. We are still small enough that we have a "family" feel, but large enough to meet your needs.

We've recently merged with another church and in the last two months seen growth of at least 30 people (which is about 30% growth, not from the merger) We are very excited with what God is doing with us.

Oh, and we do have some really awesome coffee at our fellowships (once-a-month) But what's even better than the coffee is the fellowship you'll find with people from all backgrounds (including former non-church goers)

If you live in Clayton, Wendell, Zebulon, Knightdale or North/East Raleigh you live within 25 minutes of CFC. Check us out on the web at www.calvaryfaith.com

    Making a Difference!

not sure who our talking about here? was that directed towards c3 or church in general or what?

As far as c3 we just blessed over 400 students in our area with backpacks and school supplies that they or their families could afford. And in a larger realm, as a congregation 380(roughly) children of third world countries were adopted for 30$ a month for 12 months which provides medical help, schooling and bibles for all those chldren.

c3 rocks! I for one love this church! Everytime I attend ( which isn't as often as I should  ) we have a great fellowship, with the lord & the people! It has gotten big but that just means they have reached alot of souls! The Fry family is awesome and should be congratulated on a job well done. My family and I can not wait to step foot in the new church for our first service!

Nothing against helping those abroad, but instead on spending the money there why not try to spend it here in our own country first and foremost?

This country is going to hell in a hand basket and it's because of the politically correct people that would rather take care of the rest of the would before our own people.

    Just my opinion.

    C3 Church

C3 is certainly not for anyone. But it is for many, over 2,000 per week can attest to that including 200 people that have been saved (declaring their beliefs in Jesus, repenting of their sins and following him all the days of their lives) since the beginning of this year.

I all too often see negative comments on it - I certainly hope these comments are not from Christians. I also hope that negative comments do not come from those that have not been there. It certainly irks me when that happens.

Yes, it is a big church (it gets small through bible study groups and ministry teams) and yes it is a progressive modern church. But it is a church that is completely bible based (those of you that have attended would know that). It's message is simple and the overall vision of the church is to bring people to the faith. I won't get into quoting bible scripture, but that is part of our mission, as Christians, is to help advance the kingdom.

Being a part of this church has changed my life many times over - being saved, having a personal relationship with God and helping others in need.

I will not be negative on other churches because they (hopefully) all provide a venue in which we can get to know God and Jesus and live out the Word. If you are not doing that, you are lost, you have no true purpose in life and I hope one day that you will be found. It will be the best thing that can happen to you, your family and your friends. Just imagine what the world would be like if we all lived for others and not ourselves. C3 is a place that is bringing people to the faith in large numbers - how can we question the ways in which they are doing it? I happen to like Starbucks and will be excited when I can get it there.

Lastly, one thing that is just truly amazing about the place in the number of children, kids and teens that are involved in the church. They are helping develop world changers in droves. I can't wait for my kids to be truly involved in a large way (my prayer is that they want too of course!).

May God Bless all of you and before you dump on something from reading a newspaper article or from heresay, try it out. It is doing amazing things for many people and playing a large part in helping out the community.

My family tried Holy Cross and have loved it. We were wanting to get involved with a church in the area and did not want a huge church to start off with. So far we have been blessed!

Craig, here's my take on your post.

I love using Scripture, because what better authority can you get than the inspired Word of God, and in these two verses, Jesus’ own words:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19 NASB

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:7 NASB – commonly called The Great Commission

From my Study Bible these two verses “describe a series of ever-widening circles. The gospel was to spread, geographically, from Jerusalem, into Judea and Samaria, and finally to the whole world.”

“We are to go – whether it is next door or to another country – and make disciples. It is not an option, but a command to all who call Jesus, “Lord.” We are not all evangelists in the formal sense, but we (Christians) have all received gifts that we can use to help fulfill the Great Commission.”

Not everyone is called to be a missionary overseas, but we shouldn’t neglect supporting those who have been called to serve the Lord in this capacity.

So, Craig, it sounds like you have a passion for local missions. Praise God!

I encourage you to share your passion with others and lead by example how we can help fulfill Jesus' command for us to reach everyone - here and abroad.

"thethat they or their families could afford"????

I'm handicapped and on my second visit to this church I was asked to be a door greeter........I can't open the door for myself let alone someone else ....go figure...drink your coffee and you'll feel better about yourself which is what c3 seems to be about.....I saw a car with a personalized license plate that said "ilcu@c3" what's that cost $40 a year just so you'll know where they go to church, more money well spent and all the c3 stickers.....so much for non profit and no taxes? ...by the way why cut out Cleveland "community" church and just go to c3 ?? Think of the under privileged every time you enter your cathedral !!...I am not here to argue with the self righteous...man will let you down...Jesus will not..enough said

I'm not here to say your right, I'm wrong. or the other way around. And no I cant justify what was done to you and am sorry for the way it turned out. But if you are a "proclaimed" Christian, then you cant go around bashing churches for what they did wrong to you, every church no matter what denomination(if Christian) church share a common goal to point people to Christ. I mean for example what good would it be for the kingdom if every church was against another. I know c3 is not for every one even the leadership of the church will tell you that from day one but more than anything I hope one bad taste in your mouth of church does not make you never go back to church again.

My take is that if we are to go forth and make disciples would it not be more prudent to start in your own backyard before you try to convert the rest of the world? If you turn your back and head out into the world without first converting your own people, where do you think it is easiest to be attacked (so to speak) from?

I am an active member of C3 and I am involved with several different areas of the church. Our heart is to find places where people can serve God and the people of the community. As a door greeter, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to open doors for everyone. Our door greeters, stand in the lobby, at all the doors and outside waiting to welcome each person/family when they arrive at C3. Even though you may not be able to open a door for someone, you can still be a part of the team by welcoming people with a friendly greeting and smile.

I'm sorry if you took the invitation to getting involved with a team in a negative way. I'm sure it was not meant to come across that way.

In closing, your quote above that Man will let you down, is absolutely true. If our eyes are on a person (which no one is perfect) you will be let down at some point in your relationship. But I am grateful for a God who gives us His grace so that we don't have to be 100% perfect 100% of the time. Churches are not perfect because imperfect people are involved. Each person is growing to become more and more like Jesus - each at different paces. So we too have to give grace to one another as we all grow, just as Jesus gives us His grace.

I pray that God will do amazing things in all of God's churches in our community and through-out the world. We can celebrate together what God is doing in each of our churches because it is God who makes it happen. All praise and glory go to God, not an individual house of worship/church.

    Thanks for letting me share.

I'm reminded of the story about a grizzled old sergeant and a green private stuck in a foxhole together during a tremendous battle.

The scared private looks out of the foxhole and says to the sergeant, "Sarge, we're completely surrounded, what are we going to do?!"

The battle-hardened Sergeant says, "Son, attack in any direction!"

So, that's what Christians should do - attack the forces of Satan and witness in any direction.

Some have gifts that are better suited for foreign missions and others have gifts best suited for witnessing in our own home town.

The harvest is plentiful, but it's the workers that are few.

Keep up whatever you're doing on a local level. Listen to God's calling for YOU and let Him handle the consequences.

    You're a good man, Craig.

I gotta hit the road. It's time for me to check 10-8.
