Any recommendations or "stay away froms" for a place to board my dog over Thanksgiving weekend? If you know prices too, please post them along with your comments. Thanks in advance!
We use Bone Voyage, on Shipwash dr. off Old Drug Store rd. I am not sure of the prices but I am thinking $19 or $22 for an indoor/outdoor run and $14 for a smaller indoor. You can get individual play time and play groups for a little extra. 329-9892 and www.bonevoyageinc.com could probably give you more accurate and in depth info. Also, doesn't Zookeeper have a petsitting business?
Thanks! I thought about a pet sitter, but I'd rather not have a stranger in my house while I'm gone...
The way I look at it is if I trust you with my pet, then I would trust you with anything else I have.
ain't that the truth! our fabulous sitters are already booked for the thanksgiving holiday so ya might wanna reserve a room at a kennel sooner than later. if you do not mind driving to fuquay, look up beth ann's country gardens bed and biscuit. very unique place with wonderful staff. 567.9007.
I know this probably isn't what you're looking for, but my daughter has been known to "pet sit" on occasion. Of course, I would recommend ZooKeeper first, but if she's booked up, let me know. We've pet-sitted before, and will be in town Thanksgiving weekend.
We went to Disney for 10 days in July and left our Rottie with Clayton Animal Hospital. I think it was around $17-$19 per night. The people got to know her at drop off and we took her food and a blanket. A friend dropped in a couple of times to check on her while we were gone and said that she seemed happy. She was content and happy when we picked her up. I'll use them next year. I liked the fact that vets were there in case she got hurt or sick.
I appreciate the kudos I've gotten on this thread and others, but felt the need to mention I'm booked solid for every holiday and pretty heavy for every weekend from now till 2008, therefore, I am not able to accept any new clients. For those of you with furry loved ones, if you think you may need your pet to be cared for either in a kennel, or by a pet sitter anytime before the first of the year - BOOK NOW! Kennels and pet sitters have repeat clients (for example in January, I was almost booked solid for the July 4th holiday) who book way in advance. Do not wait until the month before your departure, to schedule something. IF you schedule way in advance and find out a month before your original departure date that things have changed (either you can't get off from work. . .etc) most pet sitters will not charge you any kind of cancellation fee - we usually have a cancellation list of people waiting, hoping someone backs out. When you contact a perspective pet sitter, or kennel, ask about their cancellation policy.
Wow Zoo, had no idea you stayed that busy!! Good for you! Maybe I went into the wrong line of work, lol... That's the good thing about cats, I leave them 2 bowls of food and water, clean the litterbox, and leave the toliet seat up, and they're fine!
My pup loves Bone Voyage! He started to jump around in the car when we pull down Shipwash. I work long hours, so having Bone Voyage as an option is a life saver!
Closing comments We booked Bone Voyage. Thanks so much to everyone for your recommendations and comments!
