Plane Crash near McCalls?

Okay, reports are saying he flew in from the front that he flew ove smithfields so he may have circled overhead.

the plane flew over our house heading to hwy 70. he may have tried to land in the parking lot.

Anyway, other half was up there and was telling someone that the plane flew over our house. this lady walked up and asked her to describe the plane. she did and the woman suddenly took off for the building.

we are hoping it wasnt the pilot's wife.

 

WRAL just confirmed that there is one fatality. Must be the pilot?

 

WRAL showed a brief picture. Saying the plane hit the parking lot then crashed into the front of the building. Said all employees got out. Was on the phone with a friend and the Wilson FD was called out too. There was an explosion inside but said the fire's out now.

praying that it wasnt the pilots wife that would be awful!!!!

ABC just reported how to get around the scene. To bypass that area, they are suggesting people take 40 to 42, then 42 to 70 and it should be clear from there.

I hope that someone corrects that because that will drop everyone off into traffic.

Daughter just called - she's near the scene with neighbors..
Said its only a Pilot in the plane in which they are still trying to get him out.
Just got the fire out a few mins ago.

Right side front building of restaurant is gone.

How awful!

 

I'm on hwy 42, near the DMV, I'll have to go around my elbow to get to 210! Time to break out the GPS.

DH is at the Army Navy store now, he said one lane is moving past, it's just really backed up.

OMG...this guy that was sitting at the light when the plane came out of the clouds...was just on WRAL telling what happened....gave me GOOSEBUMPS...if that had been one hour later....would have been really, really bad.

 

Government Rd to Barber Mill Rd to Cleveland Rd. Left on Cleveland Rd will take you to 210 and then to 70 well east of the site.

An eyewitness says the plane came out of the clouds, took a sharp turn, hit the parking lot and continued into the building. Most likely this was a non-instrument rated pilot flying though clouds who became disoriented.

 

Just go Barber Mill to Cleveland Road. Cleveland School meets 210 just outside of Smithfield.
