I have heard of restuarants that charge the waitstaff for the skipped out tabs. Wonder if Outback is that way.

Even if they do, is it still worth risking your life for that amount of money:shock::?:

    Done w/ McKinley's after 9 years....

I have been going to McKinley's 1-2 times per week for the past 9 years (since they opened in 99). After tonight, I am done....LONG story! No, I wasn't asked to leave or anything like that! But from what I witnessed from the waitress as well as Eric, I will not give my money to anyone who treats people as he does. As I said, I was not even directly involved but I have a huge problem supporting someone who is a complete jerk to people.

Hey, you can't leave it like that!

Tell, tell! You really kind of have to. I think it's the law, really, after reviving a year old thread.

What happened? This place was suggested at work and I said I wouldn't go, and explained why. But they said that was so long ago, maybe it's changed.

I was there last night, kinda early for a few hours. Didn't see anything bad, but then again I was out by 9pm.

why do folks continue to go there if this man is such a freak.

Some one should tell him if your waitress sucks at what there doing then he should look into getting a new one.

Chase me out one time he is liable to get a little pepper spray, and kicked right in the bazooka. Oh I so sorry police officer I thought he was going to attack me.

The man is not a freak, he is not going to let his waitstaff be abused by unappreciative non-tipping customers. The waitresses are all very good right now! I haven't heard what PG saw yet, but I have heard the event that occurred from someone else who was there.

Lets see what any of you would do, here is what I've heard, and maybe PG didn't know the previous history of this particular customer and McKinleys.

1.) You as a waitress, busy friday night, waiting on a full section.
2.) One of your customers is a repeated non-tipper, nada, nothing, zero, zilch, time after time, never has left a cent. (If she doesn't appreciate the service, why does she keep coming back?). She orders food, and then a endless # of refills on diet coke (refills are free), while she is taking up what could be a profitable table/barstool/booth. Lets remember, we're talking about a busy friday night, live music, etc... not exactly a slow lunch when she is there.
    3) All the tables are busy, people you know who are going to tip, good tippers, big drinkers. Don't you cater to people you know will leave you the better tip (or for that matter any tip at all)?
4.) Apparently the non-tipping customer took it upon herself to chase the waitstaff around to get ANOTHER refill. Thats when she was asked to leave.

We all know waitresses aren't in the biz to make their $3.35/hr (or whatever it is now). Nobody wants to wait on the non-tipping customers when they come in, they're certainly not going to make any money on them, no matter how good the service is, and that has been shown time and time again with this particular customer.

I may not have gotten ALL the details, and I was sick all week, but I would love to hear what PG saw and if she knew this womans previous history with the bar. One reason I like to go there is because they don't put up with crap from anyone, and Eric stands up for his waitstaff.

I am a very good tipper, but I know of some folks that don't believe in tipping, they believe the business owners should pay adequate wages.

I think that the woman that does not give a tip should still receive service.

If management doesn't like it they should either add an automatic tip to the bill, post on the entry way that you are not welcome if you don't tip, or give your employees a livable wage.

Nope, you're a waitress, you cater to everyone.

    That's your job.

Sorry Tassy, but on this I will have to disagree. In a perfect world, everyone should tip. Especially on a busy Friday night. However, some folks don't, hazard of the job. The issue should be dealt with privately by the owner, not publicly. If that is even what happened. At this point, we don't even know. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and being rude to a paying customer, no matter how justifiable, is not what a good business owner does. He should be able to walk the fine line between supporting his waitstaff and not making an spectacle of a patron.

And I'm sure they would have gotten to her sooner or later, after the tipping customers. Why should el-cheapo have taken priority over tipping customers? Maybe she should serve food for $3.35/hr, not get tipped and see how she would like it.

If you don't like being a waiter or waitress and dealing with tipping...........get another job. If you're a crappy waiter or waitress you'll be tipped accordingly. That's life.

And just to play devil's advocate..............maybe this time the lady WAS going to tip. IF that's even what PG is talking about. Lots of assumptions going on.

You only get one chance to leave a first impression, whether you are the waitstaff or the customer, it goes both ways. How many times would you be screwed out of a tip and hope she'll leave one the next time you're stuck waiting on her? And really, she probably would have been fine to sit there and waste space and suck down free refills if she hadn't followed the waitress around to get her refill. :?
