I would like any info on where to get a dog spaded and a cat nurterd cheap. This dog we dont know how this happened this time she was in a pen and never got out. and last time I didnt think I would ever find all the pups a home but I did. And this time I know its going to be really hard with only one boy. But my daughter got a kitten for her birthday and she dont want him to go outside and I am scared he is going to start spraying soon. I just found out I am preg and my dr said put him out or get him fixed along with other issues we have I have tried to find the number for the love of dogs and I cant find their number so if anyone has there number please pass it on to me. or anywhere else that will do it cheap and I do mean dirt cheap for this family has ran into a lot of issues latley other wise we would keep them all but I cant let them keep coming. So any info would be very helpful to me at this point thanks to all

    There's a mobile spay/neuter that

you can check into. SNAP of NC is the name of the practice. Its low cost fixing for pets ... used them for my cat and had no problems or anything. The people were friendly & informative -- took their time in explaining stuff to me at drop off & pick up.

They have a website - just type in above name & you'll get it. They go in Wake County & Johnston County areas -- schedule varies. However, on the site is the calendar of where they'll be when ... they do fill up fast though.

They state you need to call them - then you'll probably end up leaving a v/m. I had to do that but they did call me back within 24hrs.

Anyhow - my cat cost only 60.00 for spay/rabies and one other shot. All the info is on the site. Dogs I think are like 90.00 for fix & 2-3 shots.

    Good luck.

Popnc is another good place... you can buy vouchers at spcawake.org and use them at several area vets.

With regard to being pregnant, having the cat fixed wont help anything. But you should either NOT do the litter box or wear gloves. Unless your cat catches live food it is a very low risk. I have had 3 healthy babies all with indoor cats and me doing the litter box. (and according to the titer test with my last pregnancy I still have not been exposed to toxoplasmosis)

    Good luck, definately spay/neuter.

Thanks for the SNAP info. We are on the S'field schedule for NOV. to get 2 of the farm cats fixed.

I do not need a bigger cat colony.

    Meow!

Is there no one in the house besides you and your daughter? As long as neither of you scoop your cats litter, there shouldn't be a problem with the cat indoors. You daughter, as I'm sure you know, shouldn't be around waste - from ANY type of animal, or human - period.

As far as the pups go, try contacting New Leash on Life - they have a website and will get back to you, usually within 48 hours. If you explain the situation, I'm sure if they have any space, or know of any organizations that do, they will be happy to help you. http://www.anewleashonlifedogrescue.org/index.htm

As soon as these pups are weaned, get the mother dog to SNAP or one of the other low-cost spay/neuter groups to be altered.

Even if she was penned up, you would be surprised to find out how many male dogs, smelling a female in heat, will scale a kennel - no matter how high, do their thing and exit.

Folks, this is simple - Female dogs NEED to be spayed. If not, they will be sought out if kept outdoors and will eventually become pregnant.
