If you are referring to me, I am a Mother. Thank you very much. Secondly, THERE WAS NO CIRCUS or MEDIA FRENZY....it was done quietly and discreetly. Get over it and move on. Now what was done in poor taste was the fact that there was photographers given the 'heads up' to be there while she is walking out of the school. And just between you and me, I 'd be careful who you call rednecks around here.....
Grace, your kids better figure out quick that not every adult is trust worthy, or your going to have bigger problems than loss of respect for a teacher. So I guess we are supposed to start censoring the news now because it was a teacher? Not on your life!
my child is 3, so pretty sure he is drug free..I think blind faith in some people is just crazy, ..BTW Respect is earned not given freely in my world. Teachers earn the respect they get... My child respects his teachers until they give him reason not to. I am assuming you have your child in a bubble then, drugs, sex and alcohol, are everywhere in our society, its our job to let our kids know that they dont have to fall in line with these people to be cool or to fit in..
I don't know if the woman did it or not thats not for any of us to say unless we are on the jury. But, I have no problem with them arresting her at school. My child knows to resect adults but all adults don't deserve respect . Personally I do not feel sorry for her at all if she was running around town buying this stuff. She had to sign for this stuff its not like she had no clue she maybe breaking a law. As far as the joco sherifs office I think they do a lot of good they just need to look at some of their own people.
I just watched video of the story WRAL did on this last night (see it at the WRAL web site). One of the shots is a list of the purchases the teacher made ... when (beginning 01/07), how many grams and where the purchases where made. The info. does not tell the product name to know if the same thing was purchased each time. It looks like she purchased 3-4x each month. Some purchases were 1.X size but most 2.4 g. The entire sheet cannot be seen in one shot but it looks like at least 25 purchases in 6 months.
Not exactly. What they have are sign sheets. I have bought prescriptions at CVS, Walgreens, and Eckard. Every time you pick up the meds, you sign the sheet. Not once did anyone ask me for an ID, or even check to see if what I signed is what I told them my name was.
true that, but you would think they had something a little more to go on, or at least compared handwriting, or had tapes of her at the time of purchase..
For the record being a redneck is nothing to be ashamed of. Apparently all the damn ****ing yankees didn't get a damn flier when they moved here explaining to them what a redneck is. I am proud to be a redneck. People who are not from around here just think they know what one is cause of the damn media up north . Rednecks are not racist people who can not read or write. They do not run around with sheets on and burning crosses ( THATS THE KKK NOT REDNECKS!!! ).
But were you buying OTC sudafed? I've had to show my drivers license both times I've bought it in the last year. Once at CVS here in Clayton and at the Target at White Oak. But I have NOT had to show it just to get a prescription filled at the pharmacy counter.
As Jeff Foxworthy so eloquently describes it: A redneck is someone with a glorious lack of sophistication. Well, that describes me, I am not sophisticated!
Or maybe nothing at all. Like I say time and again, just because the police arrest someone does not mean they are guilty. Maybe you just look untrustworthy.
yea but now they scan your drivers license and all of your sudafed purchases are linked together, ( and thats coming from cvs themselves bc i just asked a lady )
I've also had to show a driver's license when puchasing children's sudafed. Once I was in the store when I remembered I needed it but could not make the purchase because my license was in the car.
Ummmm....for the record!!!!!! I am one of the damn ****ing yankees. I grew up on a dairy farm in the middle of nowhere in NY and have probablly stepped in more cow poooo and threw more hay around then alot of folks on this board, that comment just offends me as it is so generalized about those of us from up North. Personally I think I'm a redneck too and you know what I happen to be proud of it too!!! I personally think the rednecks up north and the rednecks down here are pretty much the same, they only talk different!!!
