What country do you live in? Here in the US she's already innocent, until she is proved to be guilty.

I would agree that it was sexist, if I were referring to only women.

so you want to shelter your child. pretend there aren't bad people and bad things. let her respect every adult whether they're a meth head, a child molester, or a preacher.

brilliant strategy. so, when she finally realizes there is a real world, she'll be ill-prepared for it, never having been exposed to it before. keep her watching blues clues til she's 18 and you send her off to college. she be a raging success out here.....

Nope, I just don't want my child disrespecting all adults, period. If they give her/us a clue that disrespect is warranted then we will take steps. Maybe you let yours run around with whomever, whenever but not me. I may be in my own little "hippie" bubble but it seems to be working. I haven't had to run home due to her having a party at the house, I haven't had to go to the hospital because she has alcohol poisoning nor will she get in a car with someone, even a relative, unless I know about it. Call that what you will but I call it "parenting". Old fashioned parenting at that. She has a boyfriend, she goes to parties where adults will be present and she still has respect for adults. How about that dangerboy?

If it was good enough for Opie it's good enough for me.

oddly, that only seems to be the case with prescriptions (in my experience anyway). they don't check that, but to buy sinus medicine (which i do alot), they type in your driver's license number and have you sign not just a form with a bunch of names on it, but rather something that actually states by signing this, you acknowledge etc etc etc

    Time out...
Ok, so when did not wanting kids seeing a teacher arrestedbecome a lack of respect for adults? I've completely missed that concept. One has nothing to do with the other.
    Time back in...

    my thoughts...
I think it was a photo op too, b/c someone had to tip off the press. But where or when someone gets arrested doesn't make a hill of beans to me. I could care less if kids saw her or whoever get arrested. It's a fact of life, people get arrested everyday.

That's why. Prescriptions are different. Clif you're signing for insurance purposes or for the pharmacy. Ya'll are talking about 2 completely different signing sheets.

Speaking of which, I'm reminded of having to go to the pharmacist a couple of weeks ago to get some Vicodin (powerful pain releif). What the doctor gave me was a photocopy of a prescription. No, not a copy of the prescription form filled in, but a copy of a prescription including the doctor's signature. They smiled, thanksed me and then gave me the drugs fifteen minutes later. Did not quetion the photocopy, and did not ask for any ID from me, just asked my name.

My mistake on the innocent/guilty. Need to get off the sudafed. I have never seen a store that had me sign for buying that stuff.

lol so that compromise you alluded to earlier. that's "you agree to pretend and she agrees not to mention it"?  kidding

ok so i got to this late. i'm happy that your daughter is not in trouble. you should be congratulated.

how about what? she has a boyfriend, she goes to parties where (you think) adults will be present, and she still has respect for adults? i don't undersatand what that even means. she's around adults yet she still respects them? sorry, you'll have to interpret that one

and learning that not all adults are to be respected is not the same as learning not to respect any adult. that's a pretty dramatic leap.

i've seen enough myself to try to teach my kid (he's still young, but he's getting there) to be smart enough to be cautious in every situation. to understand that people are not always what they seem to be, and that anyone could be the bad guy. i'm not freaking him out, i'm teaching him to keep his guard up at all times. to be alert, not unaware.

I know this teacher. I actually went to school with her. She is exactly where she needs to be now. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for her and she will get the help she needs.
And she definitely doesn't need to be teaching.

btw, if you ever look at WMPMs website you will see that there have been lots of pics of druggies in the past that were published. Its nothing new to post these pics.

The things I have heard are that you are right. That she is not as sweet and inocent as she looks. I do not know her at all but have heard some others say they know her and are not surprised. It saddens me that a teacher could be even thought of as this type of person. I thank god for the teacher my daughter has she is what I wish every child had for a teacher . If this woman is found guilty ( she is not guilty yet) there is going to be alot of questions from children well, there is probably some questions now just cause they have seen the news or heard the gossip.
