Did anyone see the child rapist sign on the SouthHills Subdivision sign off Cornwallis? It was there at about 4:15pm, but when I came back thru around 6pm it was gone. It said CHILD RAPIST in big red letters and had 2 printouts of two people. The street address was on Charlotte Dr. Anyone have any insite on this?

That's no surprise to anyone who's been reading the post about the new registered sex offender that's living in South Hills now. Check out the recent posts and you'll learn all you need to know about it! (I had to stop reading it, it was too upsetting)

I know there was a threat about these things, but just found out that we have a resigered offender in our neighborhood, in fact just around the corner basically, indecent liberies with a minor. He was conviced 08/18/04 and released the same day....says 10M confinement and 36 months probation. A neighbor from up the street told us about this, so I pulled it up on line to see. My daughter is now nervous about taking walks, like she likes to do. She said from now on she will be taking one of the dogs. Bad part is, where he lives, in his circle, one of the houses there has several kids.

Thats sad that she has to be afraid to walk in her own neighborhood. Children should feel safe when they are at home. They need to give these sex offenders more time like life in prison .

Saw the sign. It's not helping those of us trying to sell homes--LOL. I know this is a serious matter but the signs are disturbing not only to residents but the children as well. It is really and truly putting more fear in my kids than they had before. I don't think that should be the case. Yes, they need to beware but now one of my daughters is literally scared to death. There's already enough talk about it on the middle school bus that I dont' think we need to add the signs to it.

BTW, my neighbor was there when the person pulled the sign down. The one who pulled the sign down was not the convicted person but one of the people in that house.

I do think by now the guy has gotten the message and he knows he's being watched thoroughly. I still feel safe in this neighborhood and hate the thougth of moving. Do I do things a little differently now that we found out he lives here...yes. Would I move b/c he lives here...no. This is MY neighborhood and I love living here. I hate that things have changed this way but there's honestly nothing we can do. Just keep the kids safe, and keep living the way you always have. I must say though, this is the first time in 3 years that I've ever locked the doors.

    Stay safe,

    Stephanie--mom to 7

    Stephanie,
thanks for your voice of reason. Be vigilant in your day, but not as a vigilante.

Angeleyes ~ yes it is sad. She feels a little paranoid right now about it. I am talking with her and hoping to help her a bit, but to be honest, I am on my guard also.

Tassy ~ send you the information of what I have.

To be honest, I really don't know why people have to bother kids for. These people just totally disgust me to no end. I don't think anyone deserves to have something done to them, rape or anything like that, but messing with kids makes it 10 times worse. These people are sick! No one can tell me just because they go to jail and serve time, that they still don't have these thoughts. I don't know, things happen and maybe, just maybe, they change, but I don't see it. I could be wrong, but that is how I feel. Every time I hear of someone abusing a child in this manner, it just makes me sick at my stomach and now, I am dealing with my daughter, who is 15 and paranoid. She made a comment that she wishes she could "smush" herself down (she is well endowed, which she didn't get from her mother LOL), so "they" didn't draw attention.

At least you know where the guy lives, his crime and what he looks like. I'd be more worried about all the crimals who've not yet been identified and caught.

Yeah we do. Bad part is, if she wanted to go for a walk in our neighborhood, she pretty much has to go past his house all the time. That is why she said she was going to start taking one of the dogs with her. OF course, I am sure they won't mind.

What about those sprays that you would carry on a key-chain? Maybe that will give her some comfort also. Ro
