Well, since nobody's been killed ...and since there's no "writable offense" ...and since you need a license to direct traffic ...and since DOT and the school board didn't think we needed a traffic light ...let's all just simmer down.

Let's just wait till somebody gets killed so we can study how it happened, then we'll know what we're up against.

    inconsiderate

I personally disagree with your statement about drivers not being inconsiderate and only trying to avoid accidents themselves. Why is it then if there is ony 1 or 2 cars turning left nobody turns right and does the U-turn into the substation? They only do it when there is a line and they have no patience. It is this impatience that will end up causing the wreck that may end a life. Yes it is difficult to turn left out of the school, but waiting for the traffic to be clear, not dashing out in an opening, is safer then turning right and doing a U'turn where kids are standing and putting yourself closer to the cars coming around the corner. Just my thoughts.

    *sigh*

They (they being the powers that be as the parents and voting community isn't) want staggered hours so bad, why don't they stagger, or rather- delay! when car riders go home! At WCES it would make a major difference in traffic/hazards if car riders were released say..10-5 minutes apart from bus riders instead of the same time. Mr. Bunn (love him) has to wave impatient parents in just to let the buses in! then tell them to turn around and come back because it's not time to release! (hahaha) I love that!

Also, I thoroughly enjoy taking east bound 42 and purposely sitting at the red light and GIVING RIGHT OF WAY TO THOSE THAT HAVE IT! as I normally travel west and am forced to sit through too many light cycles because oncoming people turning left into the school have no respect.

when traffic is to busy to to turn left, and someone goes out and does a u-ie, they are ONLY MAKING IT WORSE. it is only adding more traffic to the traffic,
do you know how many times I have been tempted to ram them

just wait like the rest of us.

AND ANOTHER THING. let your kid off at the front of the line, when you stop at the front and then drive to the end of the line so your overweight child doesn't have to walk an extre 30 feet, you are just making it take longer for everyone else

    huh

Why did my comment scare you? Of course i didnt literally mean i want to see someone get killed so that they will correct the situation, i just wish they would be proactive and correct the problem before a tragedy does happen.

I am telling yall, post a sign or signs saying no u turn from morning traffic here, you are making it worse for the rest of us. May stop it. It is simple and may get the point accross. Just posterboard, nothing fancy. I almost did it last year but knowing my child was gonna go to mcgees, I found that I didnt care anymore.

Maybe these people dont know that they are getting on peoples nerves. Have to let them know.

Sign says"STOP TURNING AROUND HERE< IT MAKES IT HARDER ON THOSE WAITING IN LINE" signed "SOME PARENTS OF CLEVELAND MIDDLE UNITE"

Take a stand people. Do it! Monday morning the sign should be posted, or maybe sunday night post it. Maybe 2 or 3 of them. Maybe they will take a hint.

So who will do the signs? any volunteers? should be at least two people.

It may work, you never know.

    AFTERNOON PARENTS!!

The afternoon parents are not any better. Now THERE are some people whose time/safety are more valuable than others!! Sure, flag your kid down to walk up around the loop, and then just hang a left over the CURB, drive over the grass, and through the parking lot.

I sure hope that woman in her black SUV got home in time to see the rest of Ellen. <rolls eyes>

Guess I'll make some enemies but I agree with Casidycoop about putting the children on the SCHOOL BUS.....then no driver would be turning left or being rude. Besides, it is out tax dollars that is paying for half empty buses in this county. My children rode the bus and it didn't hurt them and my granddaughter rode the bus the first day of kindergarten. Now, please don't fuss me out!!

    He doesn't 'direct traffic' really.
Parents arriving too early hold up traffic - specifically buses. (traffic gets backed up from the underpass (70) to past Papa Johns, ...the people running the light coming off Guy doesn't help either) The buses aren't able to get into the parking lot. He tells the parents to turn around and come back when it's time. Even if it's only five minutes. He HAS to let parents in because they are in the way of the buses. So.

I'd get out there and help him if he'd let me.

A couple of times he's sent letters home to the parents requesting they not arrive early. It works for maybe a week.

And some where up there in a previous post about letting them ride the bus?.. I would love for my kids to ride the bus (so would they) But the JoCoSchBd has redrawn the lines for school districts due to over crowding and such.. We live 2½ mi from there and 9? I think, from Cleveland, where they were switched to. They were grandfathered into WCES, which is the school we prefer. ..If they were to attend Cleveland, they wouldn't know any one and in two years we'd have one in Clayton Middle AND one in Cleveland. ...Not happening.
We currently feeling out leads for land in near Henderson/Louisburg area. It's nearer to his work, the hunt club and a easier ride to Buggs Island.

    Side note: I ain't gripin' - I'm just sayin' :)

You won't make an enemy out of me, i agree completely. It blows my mind how some people think they are protecting their kids by completely sheltering them - from past experience, those are the kids that end up in the most trouble when they get a little older.

    ducking now:lol:

I can see you aren't talking about WCES. I've seen one bus that leaves there that might have 10 kids on it. And there's one bus that has probably 25 kids on it and they all get off right across the street.

    Welcome to Johnston County.

Amen to that! My MIL is one of 'em - but with her grandkids!

But.... I guess that's why they say Grandchildren and Grandparents have a common enemy. ;)
