Just curious... I know someone on the board stated an offender moved into their neighborhood (South Hills?) and how some of the neighbors did not know. I remember back in the day when actual LETTERS were mailed to houses in the surrounding area stating that one had moved in, but never listed the address. Do they not do this anymore? Do they expect people to just sign up on the offender website to receive emails?

30 year old and 16 year old Im am totally sure you have no daughters after that quote. girls can look older than they are but a 16 year old is not an adult and a thiry year old man that is attracted to a teenager is only interested in one thing. some one 30 has nothing in common with a teenager that young except sex an maybe partying which he should know is illegal with someone underage.
you then have never known a desperate 16 year old that wanted so much to be an adult, whether capable of understanding or not...And you dont know what the circumstances where but you are ready to label someone for something... when you get the facts about it then we will talk....
oh and just for reference I know two women now but 16 year olds that did find love with a 30 something and are now happily married and have been for some time.. its not all sexual!!!
I have to agree w/Mommy. This 16 yo could have looked like she was 21. She could have lied to the 30 yo about her age. but... If the 30 yo knew she was 16 and still messed with her, then he is a sicko. You can call and find out the exact details of what happened.

These days some 14 year olds look 30 with the clothes some wear and make-up . Heck my niece has a friend they are both 14 she has a belly button ring and a tatoo. She looks older than me when she is all made up. If he knew her age throw him under the jail but it is easy for some kids to lie about their age.
i'm sorry, but i can't believe anyone lets their 14 year old daughter wear belly shirts and have their bellybuttons pierced, then parade around WITH THEM AT STORES AND RESTAURANTS wearing shorts that have slogans across the butt. makes me want to smack people upside the head and yeah, they do seem to be making them "older" these days....but i thought that was just because i was getting old since i remember old guys saying that about girls i went to school with....
Does matter is she can smoke, quit school, or vote...the age of sexual consent is 16 in North Carolina. (This was covered quite thoroughly in another thread this week).
I just looked at this Thread for the first time. Dangerboy, I am with you 100% on this. I keep telling my daughter and her friends this exact thing. Even my eyes go straight for the butt on someone who has something written across it. I will not let my daughter wear those things. I have friends who are close to my age with kids from college to elementary school who just got tatoos. The daughter who just started college has piercings all over and wears those stupid pants and shorts with things across the butt as do the elementary school girls. Just my opinion, in my own house. Gross...gross. Not to mention people yelling rape in today's world. Grace
I've seen key-chain pepper spray for sale at the license plate office in Smithfield. Pretty powerful stuff...you should go outside and flip and spray a couple of times to get comfortable with using it (I had one once and the snap was hard to open and you had to get that off before you could twist and spray)(fortunately, I never had to use it, but it did make me feel a little more secure...)
