    watching the live feed from sky 5 this is going to drain the water even more.. OMG its wild looking

    No. For an explosion you would need oxygen. There is no oxygen in the lines.

    looks like they are spraying the pole and the truck to keep it from exploding...

    While this is true, the FD will put up a spray to keep the surrounding areas cool(er) while the utility guys can shut down the gas.

    I watched this all day off and on yesterday while I was sort of working at my parents shop in Cary, that thing burned for over 5 hours. Crazy.
