Just a reminder to anyone interested, the parade of homes for Johnston County starts tommorrow and will run through the end of the month. October 13th & 14th, 20th & 21st, and 27th & 28th. The homes will be open Saturdays from 10-6, & Sundays from 1-6. I will have Parade books if you need one at my parade home in Broadmoor West (500 Avocet). I hope to meet some of my fellow 4042ers while you are touring the parade! PM me if you have any questions. Thanks!!
I want to see the 1.5 Million dollar home that Daughtrey built in Flowers Plantation. He was supposed to have a very expensive home in the same area in either 2005 or 2006 Parade of Homes and it was not ready. I wouner if this one is ready for foot traffic?
Just got back from the awards banquet, and I can tell you Art Kirkwood with Kirkwood Builders won all the big awards in the two highest categories...he builds some nice houses. And no, I don't work for him or even really know him, I just know he does a nice job. Won best of the best 2 years in a row, so if you get a chance go see them...My hubby won 4 awards tonight too, so very proud of him, but I know you're not supposed to "advertise" on here, so I won't mention any names!
Can a builder or a realtor explain why all builders that have homes in the Parade of Homes are not required to distribute the books as a condition of participation? I went to 5 homes before I found one that was distributing the books.
Did they say they weren't giving them out or were they simply out of them. They are only allowed to have so many of them if I remember correctly. The parade started last weekend, they might just have been out.
Today was oficially the first day of the Johnston County Parade of Homes. They just didn't have any. I assume they were cheapscapes!
Alrighty then. Each builder and real estate agent involved is entitled to a certain number of books, at least that was the case when I worked for a participating builder a couple years ago. Maybe they weren't allocated enough, but I doubt it's because they are "cheapskates" Trust me, they WANT you to have a book, lol.8) If anyone needs one, I beleive the real estate office, behind Starbucks still has some, I have that on pretty good authority.
I am down to only a few books after this weekend but I will try to get my hands on more. PM me if you still need one. And thanks for the 4042ers that stopped by this weekend! Our home won Silver in our category and the special feature award for the mantle. We are thrilled. I hope to meet more of you this coming weekend!
MamaApe it was wonderful meeting you!! Beautiful home....I could actually see myself living there. Brenda
MamaApe: was just wondering if I know you...my husband is a builder, and we were at the banquet this weekend. His parades are in Forest Oaks and Mill Creek. Congrats on your winning this weekend, and getting the special feature award is always an extra bonus isn't it?!
Is there a website for the Johnston County POH? I'd like to pull up a map of homes to visit, etc ... Thnx!!!
Bren it was great to meet you as well! You know the home is for sale....and I would be more than happy to sell it to you! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Haven't been yet this year. I'll go next weekend. Does anyone know which house/s Laurel-Lane Interiors was involved with? I love their decorating. Frogger
I went to the Parade of Homes as well and could not believe the beautiful homes of Kirkwood builders. Never been in one of their homes but was taken away by the quality and interior design of the home I went in. The theater room was to die for. Hats off to Kirkwood builders!
He is a great builder, and deserves all the awards he wins...which happened for him in every category he was in this year! (I'm just glad we didn't go up against him!) As for Laurel Lane, I can't remember who she said she decorated for this year, but I know my husband uses her for colors and things like that.
