    HERE'S WHAT I THOUGHT...

We finally made it to the corn maze yesterday with our group, and here's what I thought...

There were 9 total: 3 adults and 6 kids, 2 were in strollers. The signs say they don't want more than 6 in a group, but they did let us all go together. I definitely recommend a stroller for little ones, it is a lot of walking. Unfortunately though, it's very hard to maneuver through with strollers, so it makes it tough.

The older kids loved it (4, 6 & 7) and so did the adults. It is a lot harder than I thought though, we had to surrender after 1 1/2 hours of not finishing it! As far as chick-fil-a day goes, I'm not sure how it's different from other days since I've never been there. But the food stand did sell CFA sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, nachos, that sort of thing. They had the cow there, and there were a couple games where you could win free things from CFA, plus everyone got coupons as well for there.

Other than the corn maze, there are things for kids to climb on, a playground, super slide, and lots of places to get photos taken. It was a fun day, but really don't recommend for very young children.

I went to Ken's five years ago with Mom's Club. I had no idea what to expect and no one suggested bringing a stroller. I was seven months pregnant and ended up carrying my then seventeen month old most of the way. Needless to say I've not had a huge desire to go back. My children are old enough now though that they would probably enjoy it.

Lazy O' Farm in Four Oaks has a wonderful millet maze for preK age children. There are lots of learning opportunities in the maze.

Another one we've been to is The Maze at Hector's Creek

My most favorite fall farm visit has been to Vollmer Farm. The drive is only about 45 minutes from the 40/42 area.

Do they still have their pumpkin patch? I haven't heard anything.

My son went to Wilson's Mills for a field trip the other day, and yes there was the pumpkin patch. I do know it's run by new people now, so not sure how it is compared to before.

Really...by new people. I haven't heard that. I must be living under a rock.

    Thanks.

We went to Ken's Corn Maze Saturday night and had a blast! My feet hurt from all the walking, but we had a really good time. I recommend it!

That's when we went...if you saw a bunch of crazies with 2 strollers, that was us! Nobody could find the first N...how did you do?

We didn't do too bad. We didn't find the K, the Z, or the E. We actually found the first "N" before we found the COR!

My BIL and I went for the first time this weekend and we both hated it... For starters, all of us were wearing new sneakers and when you get out of there everything from your knees down is trashed... so wear old pants and sneakers........ second it was a 2.3 mile course that was supposed to be 1 1/2 hours of walking long.... well after 1 1/2 hours we finshed only the first section and were tired and aggravated.... there was no map to try to follow, and it was really boring trying to find the mailboxes.... got very bored and tired quick,,,, they need to make the first section easy with the next section getting alittle harder etc... that would have been more motivating.... anyway will not do that again unless they change a few things....

I liked the fact that it was so challenging, I think that's the whole point. Just wish I didn't have a little one with me in the stroller. Everyone says it's really fun at night with flashlights, would like to try that with my DH sometime.

I haven't gone since I had kids, but my husband and I used to go with another couple. We would race, usually men against women, it was a blast. I can't imagine just going through it without racing someone and being silly hiding from the guys. Of course my favorite part was always laughing over ice cream afterwards!!!

Absolutely good clean fun! And hiding from each other is the best!! Try it at night with flashlights, even better! I love that place!

DH and I have always talked about doing the haunted one, honestly I am too chicken to go. Now I have my kids as the excuse why we can't go.

A quick note to say that my daughter and some more youth from my church went to Ken's Corn maze this past Saturday and had a blast!

Appreciate all the effort in putting this together.

Has anyone been to Vollmer Farms this season? There website looks good but the cost is $15 each including my 6 year old! That doesn't include a pumpkin. We went to Hillridge 2 years ago and we had fun but I thought the cost was a little much for what you get. Is Vollmer worth the money and the drive?
