The school system employed him for 18 years. Makes me wonder if he was such a bad teacher, why have they kept him all those years?

I agree. Eighteen years of teaching, and suddenly the school system sees a problem?

"Escamilla said he has not ruled out taking legal action against the school system."

Sign me up for this jury. Sex education questions relating to condoms. etc. on a history exam. I support the School Board in this situation.

Where, in the posted article, do you see anything about condoms?

Given what I've read in the article, as well as what I have heard about Mr. Escamilla's religious beliefs, if he was talking about sex education in relation to the world wide AIDS crisis, he would have been pushing abstinence.

In any event, I'm glad that you don't get to sit in on the jury. I'd rather have someone who sticks to the facts, rather than presumptions based on their own preconceived notions.

It was on the WRAL noon news. I don't believe I stated it was in the post.

Just checked the WRAL article. No mention about condoms. I think you may have misheard.

No, they didn't. I saw the news at noon and it was mentioned.

I saw the word CONDOMS & Birth Control on some sort of graphic that was part of his course handouts, maybe an overhead - It was in the context of dealing with world history issues.

It does seem rather out of character. Perhaps y'all could provide a link. I mean, it's hard enough to believe that a conservative-Christian teacher would promote condoms. It's even harder to believe that the only proof that he did was displayed in the TV news, but not on anyone's website.
