Anyone have any idea what goes on out there during Family Day? Anyone been there? Thoughts? The website doesn't provide much info except for a maze and some farm animals. I have a 3 year old and don't know if it's worth taking him.
I am not sure about the family day they are having, but I went last weekend with my two boys ages 6 and 7. They really had a great time. It was the first time for us so we did not know what to expect. It does take a long time to go through it all. It took us over 1 & 1/2 hrs and we did not even finish it. What is nice is that you can wave your flag which tells them you SURRENDER!!! The person will come get you and get you out of there!!! The kids loved it and I enjoyed it too. just be sure you wear your walking shoes, bring enough water for each person (there are watering stations if you are so lucky to come across one), and a snack for a little one. Oh, and it is hard to push a stoller in there, but would be worth it for a little one. Friends of mine had strollers, but was definitely worth it for the little ones who got tired. You will get your workout! Have fun!!!
Loki - Pay no attention to what AWmom says!!! I was with her last weekend, and she's talking about Ken's in Garner, not Lazy O Days! I have never been to Lazy o before, but my son is going next week on his field trip, so please let us know how it is if you go!
OH my!! I AM SO SORRY!!! She is right, I am not thinking right. I had the Corn Maze on my mind. Sorry, lack of sleep. I have a sick child for the last 2 days who I have been up with day and night. Sorry about the confusion! BUT, my son did go to Lazy O farm last week and they had a maze too. I did not go with him (his grandma did). he just told me that it was kind of the same, but not as hard.
Love It. CES "K's" went last week. Our DS loved it & had a ball even though he sees FARM stuff every day. It is very geared for the younger kiddo's, Not so much for the teens. Their maze is a Millet Maze, (Google it!-- it's another grain crop that is not as tall as corn.) Hay Ride, Photos on a Massey 35 tractor, Farm Animals, pick a pumpkin, play ground... & So on. Local mutil-generation Family Farm. Plus Female Owned & Operated. The O is for Olive. They have a web site too http://www.ncagr.com/NCproducts/ShowSite.asp?ID=2121 From I-40: Take exit 319, and take Highway 210 towards Smithfield (not McGee's Crossroads). Continue on 210 for about 2 miles and turn right onto Lassiter Road. Continue on Lassiter about 5 miles and turn left at the stop sign onto Black Creek Road. Go 1 mile and bear right onto Packing Plant Road. The farm is the first house on the right on Packing Plant Road.
Very good for young kids! I am going next week with my daughter's preschool class. I went twice last year and my kids and I both really enjoyed it.
We've been to Lazy O' twice and it is one of my favorite farm trips. It is a great first maze for younger children. With the educational info. in the maze ... I think preK-grade 3 children would enjoy it.
