You guys can thank me for the rain. I NEVER organize anything... well I organized a hayride for today (from scratch) and over 70 people were coming, so therefore it rained. We rescheduled for next Friday, so maybe I can end the drought this way??:-D :-D

driving to work this morning I think the radio stations had some fun with songs about the rain, all the ones I listen to had one playing.
Jodi Mousino (sp.) "Bring on the Rain" with Garth
    Carpenters "Rainy days and Sunday"
Love Karen Carpenter, wonder what her career would've been like if she hadn't died.

I hear ya girl, my MIL's well is starting to go dry and she's having to fill up at our house to help flush her toilets. This is not a good sign of things to come.

yes, its a common misconception that people with wells (like myself) think it will never go dry. I know it will go dry, but most think it won't ever go dry.

My MIL has one that only receives surface water, ours is a drilled one going down about 350 feet through rock, but we realize even this might go dry if we don't conserve.

All 4 of my kids are good about taking a nice LOoooooNG shower. So, I went to the $ store and bought a couple of those little digital timers for a buck each. Now, they have to set the timer before they get in and when it goes off, out they come. I have to really check on the younger 2 boys to make sure they actually bathe though. We had to make a strict rule of "no toys in the shower" to keep them from getting in and playing army or pirates the whole time instead of bathing. :? Boys...

We had septic trouble last year (drought took care of it for us - silver lining in every cloud ya know) and for a while, we had them on "camp style" showers. They had to get in and get wet, turn the water off, soap up good/wash hair, then turn water on to rinse off. They hated it, but it helped. Thinking about going back to that soon if we don't get more rain.:?
