and please dont post links to other threads as I have read them all... just wondering now that you have tried the gym of your choice what is your opinion now, do you still like it? do you regret it? if you have cancelled the membership was is difficult to do? looking at a few and wanted to know what your experiences have been since joining...
I am a member of the Rex Wellness Center over here in White Oak! Love it, even though I have been bad about going latley! Its pricey but in my opinion its worth it.
Ok I'll bite. I joined Body Contours in the early summer. They had a special of 3 months for $99. I found that all I really did was walk the treadmill while I was there. I tried to do the circuit, but I was in there alone most of the time, and honestly, it just wasn't fun for me. I stopped going and didn't continue my membership because I couldn't see paying ~$30 a month just to use a treadmill. Plus it was becomming increasingly harder to go home, cook, clean up, and then drag at least 1 of 2 kids to the gym nursery. I am currently looking for a treadmill that I can use in my own home, either at 5 in the morning, 5 in the evening, or midnight, whenever is good for me.
I hate getting there, but love how I feel when I leave. I have been going for about 5 years and its part of who I am, 5 days a week, rain or shine.
You haven't lived until you get up at 4:00am, hit the gym for two hours and then go back after work for two hours.
I'm with you there!!! Walmart had a treadmill on clearance for under $200. You can also dig around on craigslist.
I have considered this as well, buy one piece of cardio equipment and a "total gym" type thing... but there is so much out there, I really dont know whats good and what's not... speaking of martial arts, what is a good age to start kids?
I was a member of the YMCA in Raleigh before I moved out here. Loved it. Loved the water aerobic classes, they were a blast. Had to cancel membership because there is no YMCA out here...havent found a gym yet that I want to join. I also dont like butterfly life. I'm sure it works great for some people, but it looks pretty lame to me. Just my opinion though.
Want mine, it's still in a million pieces in the garage from the move :? Will have to wait until we get a real house to put it back up.
I go to Body Contours and I love it!!! I go in the morning and I enjoy the different classes. I have been in the evening and understand what Jenn is talking about. It is empty in the evenings, I do everything I can to get there in the mornings. It just seems to have a different atmosphere in the am!!!
I also go to Body Contours. It used to be a whole better a few yrs ago, before Lynn left, better instructors....used to look forward to going, now I have to force myself to get there a couple of times a week, usually in the afternoon/evenings.....but I like using the eliptical and I don't have the space or money to get one for the house. Plus I also like to lift weights.:-D
Ballroom dancing I can't get enough of Dancing with the stars and it seems like a great work out. Does anyone know of any ball room dancing around here....would be fun to do
A gym is what you make of it. It can either be great, or a waste of money. Just like a thread that was on here a while back about dieting (weightwatchers to be exact), some people would rather not work out alone.
Hi, I've been going to Body Comtours since April. I like it alot. I like Dana, and the other members are friendly..so are the instructors. They have treadmills yes, but many other machines as well as strength training machines, free weights and lots of different classes to choose from. I take step one day, maybe kick boxing the next. they offer classes for seniors, pilates, yoga, gliding, and circuit on certain days. I make the best out of my time there
