What a cold, heartless, biatch. Wrongly Convicted Man Sued for Child Support http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/1961294/
OMG saw this on the news this morning and thought the same thing. i mean really wtf is she thinking he could have done? dumb beotch!
I saw this last night on the news. Her attorney was arguing that she had to file suit before the kid turned 18, which was just recently, if she were ever going to get anything. She's definitely not looking out for the best interest of the kid, heck, he's living with Dad now. Some people, I swear....
OK, well I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought that was weird. The dude was IN JAIL for a crime he didn't commit.....................Didn't I hear that she is working for the opposing attorney in the original case??? Something strange is going on for sure.
her attorney works for the same firm as the prosecutor in the rape case; I cant believe she had the nerve to do this, I guess she saw a chance to get some money, just trashy in my opinion
Well, she probably figures if he was wrongly convicted, then the state owes her the back child support, because if he had not been in prison she could have collected.
Then why not sue the state? Is it more fun to use taxpayers money to take the long way around? Go through her *** to get to her elbow?
Maybe this explains it: Gov. Mike Easley pardoned Dail two weeks ago, making him eligible to receive $360,000 from the state – $20,000 for each year he spent in prison.
If it was me, I'd be so focused on my prosecutors I wouldn't even notice the lawsuit or the money. I'd go out with a bang.
She just wants some of his money. Thats it folks. She is thinking "cha ching" Greedy people suck! Anyone know how much she is asking?
i dont understand why he gets that money anyway? i mean i have read it but what sense does that make?
Since Child support is based on earned wages I would say she is entitled to approximately...$12.00 for every year.. He would earn .79 a month working in a state facility.
Ok, well when I first read it I thought the same thing that it was about greed, but then when I thought about it...I mean yes he was wrongly imprisoned, and that is awful and horrible. But, the bottom line was while he was wrongly imprisioned, the child was not receiving any support from him. If he had been rightly imprisioned, when he was released, you can trust and believe he would still owe that back child support. I don't think it just "goes away". The mom still had to take care of the child on her own while he was gone regardless of the reason. Does the child not deserve to be supported, and the mother that supported the child deserve to get some of the money? I do not agree that she should get ALL the money that he will be compensated, but I do think he should have to pay her something.
Depends in my opinion. Did she get public assistance? If so, I don't think she should be able to touch the money that he gets.
you could certainly make a case that she is owed child support. but by whom is the real question. i say he doesn't owe it. the state does. actually, the prosecutor and the original location of the crime/trial, but they acted as agents of the state, so it falls on them... ps 20k a year for 18 years in prison is a slap in the face imho.
True, but if she worked her rear off to provide, whether a guilty felon or not, he's still the father and responsible for his half.
