Hello all, I still live way out in Chapel Hill, but I'm asking this question for one of my friends. He has grandchildren that he wants to take trick-or-treating this year. He lives in Fuquay, but works here in 4042. He is curious when the prime time is for trick or treating this year? Some areas are doing it sunday evening, some on Wed...some are even doing Tuesday b/c Wed is a church night. When is everyone in the area taking their kids out tricking and/or treating? Thanks, Mike
we are going on Wed.. we usually go to Riverwood Athletic since we dont live in a Sub, plus the people our really nice and they decorate awesome for the kids...always a great time!
I AGREE! Thanks for your input. I was on the same page, but he was hesitating. I'll be acting like a child wed night on Franklin St. in Chapel Hill with thousands of college kids. At what point are you too old to dress up in some rediculous costume and hit the streets? M
Never too old! Have tons of fun....sorry you have to go to that dreadful blue town to do it. (kidding, sort of, the whole town isn't dreadful)
Cycle... how old is too old? I'm guessing when the undertaker is doing your makeup. Other than that..have at it...
We are heading to Flowers Plantation where my in-laws live. My eldest daughter asked her father to dress up. Its been years since he dressed up. He couldn't turn down his daughter's request. He will be dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow (my daughter's lil crush...hehehe) Ro
Don't we have this conversation every year? Why do people try and reinvent the wheel? Halloween is October 31st that is the day set aside for trick or treat. The End
Why is it, people feel obligated to come here and tell those who have lived here all their lives how things should be? It's my understanding that, if Oct. 31 falls on a Sunday, then trick or treat will happen on Saturday. If that's the local rule, and has been for years, who the 7734 are you to tell them they are wrong?
That rule about Sunday's is not true. Never has been, ('cept for local holy rollers  ) I have and will continue to trick or treat on October 31st.
Maybe not in this part of the county, but that's how I remember it from when I lived in Selma. Maybe that's what causes the confusion - different traditions in different communities?
I am 'from around here' all my life. And that rule has never applied. NEVER. Like she said with the BIG FONT......OCTOBER 31st is Halloween.
Okay then... So we've established that you are never to old to be a child.... What are your costumes this year? My fiance is in dental school at UNC and I'm going to a gathering full of dental school nerds (don't take offense, they all admit it!) I'm dressing up as the tooth fairy.... http://halloweengear.net/shopsite_sc/store/html/00971.html God help me. M
