I need any ideas for a female punk rocker outfit. I have lots of ideas and thoughts, but wanted to get more from a wide variety of peoples. Also, if anyone out there has leather pants and/or a leather (biker type) vest that you wouldn't mind parting with, please let me know.

check out the Goodwill, they have PLENTY. $4 too!
I saw a few over the weekend, my friend and I were holding them up at each other yelling out, "Hey, did you donate these? They were your favorite!"

    :D

    Good luck with your costume!

instead of leather vest - since you don't have one... try using a tank top or sports bra and then another tee-top over it , off one shoulder. perferably stripped horizontaly.
    spiked hair
    heavy eye makeup
boots or thick heeled and high shoes, possibly written one keds sneakers

    my thoughts

Which good will were you at?

Peppercorns...going to do the hair thing. Have plans to spike and color bright pink or green. Lots of black make-up and nail polish too.

Thanks for the tips so far.

tit4tat...more the 80's type, because that's what I know as well. But it could end up being a combination of the two.

Found this real quick on the web for you. The link is below. Have fun!

Even a well-behaved child or mild-mannered accountant will feel like a rebel in this costume.

    Instructions

    Difficulty: Easy
    Steps

    Step One

Purchase white felt and, using a permanent marker, write "Sid Vicious Lives" or "Anarchy" on it in jagged writing.

    Step Two

Attach it to the front of your shirt with safety pins. Place a pin every other inch, and pin them so the safety pins are on the outside and can be seen.

    Step Three

Rip a hole in the knee of your plaid pants.

    Step Four

Put on your shirt, pants and combat boots.

    Step Five

Line your eyes with sloppy black eyeliner.

    Step Six

Gel your hair so that it sticks up, and then spray green hair color on it.

    Step Seven

Apply a few fake tattoos to your arms and neck.

    Step Eight

    Don your dog collar.

    Step Nine

    Practice leering in the mirror.

    Tips & Warnings
    • If you can't find plaid pants (Goodwill is an excellent place to look), torn-up jeans will also work.

And safety pins, LOTS of safety pins. It's like a prerequisite.

Ken....I have short, dark hair. It should be easy to spike, because it is already styles were the back sort of spikes out anyway. I am not sure how well the color is going to do. Thanks for the t-shirt offer, I might take you up on that. I'll let you know. I am going to goodwill this weekend and see what all I can find.

You could check out the Army Navy Surplus Store for combat boots, and there is a place at the fairgrounds, too.

At the Dollar General Store they have the kits for Halloween so that a person can use different colors on the face and hair. If I can remember correctly, and I am sure Ken will correct me, purple tips were a big deal or even a deep red. Just the tips though.

I agree with Cleo, lots and lots of safety pins. If your ears are pierced be imaginative. I believe they used to use those pins from the ear and link them together where the end would go into a hole of the nose or whatever but you could link pins and wind up in your hair or shirt.

I saw a great looking couple at a halloween party last year dressed as bikers. They were both wearing leather pants & vests. The girl had a tattoo on her chest. They guy had these tatoos all the way up both arms. I thought the tattoos were real - but they were stockings or hose that he put on his arms that had what I mistook for tattoos printed on them. He had fingerless gloves on - so you couldn't see where the stockings ended at his wrist. In anycase - I thought the stocking tattoos were great. I think they said they bought them at a halloween store at a mall in Cary.

Hair is dark brown, no highlights left anymore. I would hate to use something other than the spray color, becaue it would be my luck it would take alot longer to wash out. Then I would have to go around with punked out hair. Oh well, i'll see what happens. Either way it should be fun. The party is not until the Friday night after Halloween, so I have a little time to figure this all out.

Thanks so much for all the input.

I used to wear a chain dog collar with padlock, ala Sid Vicious. I may have a spiked leather cuff or two lying around, I will look if you like.
