Registry of Academic Excellence.... Anybody hear of this? Participate? Any benefits to doing this besides feeling good? http://www.whoswhopublications.com/
I got info in the mail on it back when my 2 were in school. I was told it's BS. Mine went straight in the trash. Brenda
http://clarkhoward.com/archives/scamalert.html Stay away from "Who's Who" offers (04/24/2007) Clark got a invitation to join a "Who's Who" list recently. All he has to do is pay to get the book with his name in it. Wrong! All of these outfits are rip-offs. Don't let your ego get the best of you. go to the link. you can listen to a little segment of his show about it. free, of course...
I thought it was free to be in the publication, but if you want the book - that is where the money comes in? No big head here, just weeding through some old junk mail!!
We seem to get those things year after year. In hiring people or going to college this has no effect. It could make the child feel good but that's about it. My opinion, throw it away. Grace
Did it back whaen I was young and stupid (no, not last week). Ordered the book for $49.95 and never received it.
He already feels good, we went to the Student Ambassador meeting last night. He is only $5,599.00 away from his goal. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!
That Who's Who BS has been around forever and isn't even current as a professional networking tool anymore now that free sites like linkedin.com are available.
If it's any consolation, the deposit is *only* 95.00, not 400.... Of course that 400.00 has to be paid some time, along with the other 5,499.00.
