Did anybody else see this last night? And no, I am not crazy! There was a man on the shoulder of westbound I-40 west of the work zone carrying a white cross, and walking towards Garner. Just curious if anyone new the purpose behind it?
I saw him last evening on my way home from work in Raleigh. He was already passed the 4042 area heading toward raleigh when I passed him. You are not crazy!!!!
This is being discussed on "The Other Forum" More infor about the guy with the cross can be found HERE.
Does he ever "cross" the road? It's a "miracle" he does not get "nailed" by walking so close to traffic. (saw him yesterday, myself)
I saw an odd thing on I40 west just before crossing over I95..A c3 revolving billboard with a picture of the pastor and his wife and a few others..I wonder what that costs.Must be alot since they can't even call it by it's full name and just use c3..didn't get anymore of a message from it other than that.More money spent that someone in the Cleveland community could probaly desperately use with cold weather coming and needing to buy gas for heat...children may be cold in their homes but I bet that sign doesn't go anywhere ! I wonder what the man carrying the cross would think about that ? He could have just as well put a c3 sticker on his $40,000 suv but it just doesn't send the same message does it ? Wonder who's heart is in the right place ?????????? May God Bless the man carrying the cross !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think you can post this in a few more threads? Why don't you leave them alone if they are leaving you alone?
Do you think you can post this in a few more threads? Why don't you leave them alone Oh, so very well said - thank you
first off let me say that i am not a member of c3. but c3 can't win. someone on the 4042 will nail them no matter what they do. i don't like their service format or the looks of their new building but they are doing something right. and i bet if you contact them with the circumstances and names of those children with no heat they will help out. if c3 will not help then post the names and circumstances on this discussion board and help will be on it's way. i am confident that the c3 critics on this discussion board have a heart for mission work. ps the billboard must be effective as it got your attention
Not bashing c3 but something I don't understand ... several people who are members or former members have told me that c3 does not like the building used during the week...even for ministry opportunities. Even members are discouraged from asking to use a room. I don't understand a church that has been blessed with such a huge facility and it's members cannot even use it for outreach purposes.
Thank you for asking ! I sure will post it on as many threads as you or I would like considering I am paralyzed and in a wheelchair and they asked me to be a door greeter on my 2nd "visit" to their church..no I'm not a member or knew any of their names and they didn't know mine and certainly can't open door for others...never asked me if I knew the Lord or how I was doing with my life but were ready to put me to work for them ! I signed my daughter up to go to a summer camp with them before this happened and the day before they left they called and told us they were overbooked and she couldn't go..Had to tell my 9 year old daughter she couldn't go and she was heart broken and cried for 2 days..no one could give me any answers as to why..couldn't talk to the "Pastor" had to go thru the ranks of the church..never got to talk to the "pastor" they wouldn't give his # and it's not an option to even leave him a voice mail at his church office..no # to call for emergencies or needing someone to pray with or anything...just not my idea of a community church.Never hear them mention Jesus in any of their ads it's all about them and what you can do for them..Won't even let church members have a birthday party in any of "their" rooms or anything.................. Starbuck's coffee anyone?
And how many more threads would you like me to post this in???..or better yet I could start a knew one and get everyone's attention..LOL!
I have no problems with those who have convictions to carry their cross daily, even if that means literally. I'm sure many are decent people. A few, however, probably get a little fanatical. I would most certainly NOT label this particular individual seen as such just because of something he felt the need to do. Many years ago, I was in Smithfield with my girlfriend at the time (wife now) and this guy comes walking up to me speaking about Christ and his (the man's) travels. We probably hadn't talked to him for 3 minutes and he attempts to invite himself home with us without even asking any details. Heck, I was still living with my parents at the time. I couldn't offer that to him because, for one thing, I was in no position to do so. Besides that, I didn't know this man just 3 minutes ago. He could've been a wolf in sheep's clothing for all I knew. He acted a bit niffed at us and as we got in the car and drove off, he symbolically shook the dust from his feet, which really bothered me because, as a Christian myself, I realized he was gesturing in such a way as to testify against me as Jesus instructed his disciples to do when rejected in a village. Instead of being cold or harsh, I had been kind to him and listened to him. Without even understanding my point of view (or even asking), he did such a thing which I really feel is not something you do superficially. Of course, I moved on and never really let it bother me, but it point out how some people can become so self-righteous that they fail to have patience and understanding with their fellow man.
Yeah right "Barney" !! LOL ! too bad that's all I got out of it ..It's just a sermon factory with a Starbucks..you get the same sevice no matter which time you go..whatever happened to preaching from the heart like my Grandfather did as a Baptist preacher for 25 years.. Wonder how much that huge crucifix costs them?
My understanding is the Starbucks will be in the new addition. They recently applied for some sort of rezoning I think for the future bookstore and Starbucks. I've heard mixed info. about when it will be open. I think someone on here wrote it would be open Sundays during service times.
