I know, it's the last day of the month, but I was just reminded that October is "National Breast Cancer Awareness Month", and thought I'd pass the info on.

Now, I don't wait for a particular month. I do what I can, when I can. I don't eat Yogurt, so I don't buy the Yoplait with the special caps that you send in for the company to donate 50ยข for each cap. This, in itself, bothers me. Why must one buy the Yoplait, then send in the cap to get the company to donate? Why can't they just donate for each one sold?

At any rate, I do buy the breast cancer postage stamps (at least I did. Do they still have them after the postage went up?)

Ok, at any rate, have you seen these?

Pretty cool, if you ask me. :)

Apparently it's part os a multi-company push. Other products can be seen HERE.

My only complain is that everything is in pink. I'm not trying to be sexist, but pink just isn't my colour.

Good thing you brought this up, Cliff :)

Everyone should get themselves checked out.
My mom is getting a lump removed on Friday (it something she can not feel when she touches it) its deep in her breast.

So its very important to get your mammo done....please

I know it's very important, but I just can't bring myself to suggest women get their boobies squished.

Hey, after I found out how they test for breast cancer, I'm worried about getting tested for testicular cancer.

well thats good to know! but i was talking about mammo's. you dont have to have a drs order for a screening mammo ( which means you have no problems ) but if you are having problems with your breast then you have to have an order before we can schedule you for a diagnostic mammo :)

Remember.... if you are having a problem then a radiology facility can NOT do the more extensive mammogram you MUST see your regualr doctor first for them to order this. Facilities can only do a screening with out an order. So in other words if you have a problem at ALL with your breast men or women see your doctor and demand diagnostic! We can only do what legally we are allowed to do!! :)

Do not put it off either!

Good job Clif - getting a doctor!! Proud of you! :)

I think I'm still too young to get mammo's, at least my OBGYN hasn't yet suggested one.

If it runs in your family, colon cancer or breast cancer, you should start Mamo's at 35 and Colonoscopy's at 40. I have had both. Neither are a big deal and people make way too big of a deal about getting them. I am all about saving my own life.

There was an article not too long ago where there was a young girl, in her 20's had breast cancer. I have to find it

AND don't wait for your doctor to request a mammo for you, You can ask for one

I do self checks monthly, and currently, I'm being seen by my GYN semi-annually.

I'm only 30. I asked about a mammo once and was told I wasn't old enough to start with them.
