I may have gotten 'Grandstand' incorrect - but know Taters is the actual name of one of the new businesses across from DR WELLS. Anyone been to either? What did you have? Was it any good?

If this is on another thread, please excuse - in and out this morning and don't have time to search.

    Grand Street Pizza and Taters.

Been to both. Good stuff. Grand Street has good pizza but i love they sell by the slice.

Taters...went there last Friday to get breakfast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, hashbrowns and toast. $4. Cant beat it.

Since I don't have kids at the YMCA over there by DR Wells, I am not familiar....where are these places? what are they? you have peaked my interest.......

Kell Bell, it is a new "building" that can house maybe 5 - 6 businesses, Taters and Grand Street are two food/take out/restaurant occupants, grand opening this week I think.

It is across the street from DR Wells, between the old Cleveland School and Broadmoore Subdivision.

I like seeing new food choices around the area

It's beside the OLD-OLD Cleveland School & across from Oakland Presybterian Church.

Also it sets where the Cleveland School activity bus parked in the 1980's at the Lunch Room side door area.

I know the guy who runs Grand Street Pizza, used to work for the company I am still at. He also owns/operates two other locations in Knightdale (near the Walmart on Hwy 64), and in the old shopping center on New Bern Ave/hwy 64 (behind the Wachovia Bank and Burger King, just past Tower Shopping Center as you head towards New Hope Rd.). I wish him lots of luck, he makes a great pizza!

I'll have to stop in and check it out!

Grand Street had quite a line when I went in - since I was pressed for time, I grabbed a menu and hit Taters.

Taters had quite a tasty cheeseburger with exactly what I asked for on top. The fries were good too. The prices were VERY reasonable. What I wasn't nuts over was the preschool age child wandering around in the kitchen/counter area - after, she came out into the front area near the tables - all alone. . .she wasn't misbehaving, but who wants to eat with kids coming up and staring at them? The staff wasn't at all welcoming for being a new business. No smiles, no welcome, no 'come back and see us'.

I wouldn't not go back, but I won't be in any hurry either.

Went to Grand Street last weekend, was not impressed with the service at all, stood there for about 3 minutes while the employee's chit chatted, there was nobody else in there waiting at the time, had to say something to get my order taken. Food was OK, but the service blew it for me, will keep travelling up to 210 for any pizza needs

I have tried Grand Strand as well and was very impressed. I love being able to buy pizza by the slice and the baked ziti was fabulous! The service was a little lacking the first time I went but I know they are still trying to get the kinks worked out. Second time was much better but the food was always great! I will try to get to Tater's sometime next week!

If you have problems, call and ask for the owner, his name is Chris. I'm sure he would appreciate knowing his help isn't being very customer conscious. If he's not there, you could try getting him at the other stores, Knightdale or Raleigh.

Sooooorrrrrrrryyyyyyyy...hate to ask this but, we are looking for a new breakfast place and Taters sounds like it might be next in line for us...

    I just moved here.
    Exactly where is this place?
I live off of hwy 70 but I am familar with the 40/42 section.

Sorry to be a pain! :)
    (Thanks!)

If you come up 42, turn left at CVS onto Clev sch rd. Pass West View elem and Clev Elem schools, go about 2 more miles, you'll see Sluggers on the left and the fire dept on the right. Just pass the FD (and Dr Wells Emporium) there is a large 2 story brick building on the left (used to be the old Cleve shc, now Sr apts) and on the other side of that bldg is a small set of stores....it's in there. If you see the Broadmoor pool, you've gone too far.

Coming from Clayton, it's probably shorter to take Barber Mill Rd., then turn right on 1010 (Cleveland Rd.). It's not too far from there to the old Cleveland School, D.R. Wells Emporium, etc.

Ditto on the Barber Mill Road route. Faster/Shorter.

Of course I'd say turn at the old Pythian Home... but almost no one knows where that was anymore.

    Google it!
The Fraternal Order of Knights of Pythias
They owned & operated a home at the corner of Barber Mill & NC42, just out side of Clayton.
