How on earth can a 12-14 year old child be missing overnight and in the hospital critically injured...and no parents have reported him missing to the police?!?! http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/1998962/
Brings back to mind the old saying, "do you know where your children are"? Sadly many parents have no idea where their children are and evidently could care less. Sad story.
I hope they found his parents or guardians. I know my kids think I am too strict when it comes to their comings and goings and what time I expect them to be home, etc. Even right now with my son being 18, as long as he is in my house, I expect the same thing.
I just checked WRAL's web site again, hoping that by now they had found his family - it happened at 7:30 last night. But no, the story was updated 6 minutes ago, and they are still looking.
Parents?? I have wondered myself why his parents haven't missed him yet,,,,,thinking about it made me come up with some possibilities. Like,,,maybe he was supposed to be at somebody elses house for the night - like spending the night with a friend - and the parent hasn't missed him because it's not time for him to be back home yet. Maybe the parent hasn't seen the news to make them question it - I don't watch it everyday myself. Hopefully it's not that the parent/guardian just doesn't care.
It certainly explains why we see kids wandering the streets late at night. Apparently these parents couldn't care less. Especially now that mine is driving, if she says she will be home by 8:00pm...I start pacing at 8:05.
Right on girl, right on. I have an adult son at home. It's just respect to the whole family unit to set guidelines.
.. sounds like, what used to be "go outside and play" back in the day, for many has turned into either - Get out of my hair!, or..Where's Johnny? deet-duh-deeee...
OMG, that's what I'm thinking. Do you think "running away" is a coverup for not knowing he was hit by a dumptruck? Not knowing he was not home in his bed? eta Love the smiley!!
That was my thought. When did they contact the police? He was hit at 7:30pm at night and as of this morning, they were still looking for leads on who he was.
and then another one Sat night at like 10:30pm! out skate boarding! Seems unusual to have 4 unidentified victims in just a couple of weeks!
