    Okay, I'm sorry but...

Isnt there some sort of program you can install in your kids car that will either alert you if they are speeding or that will not allow them to speed period? Does this really exist or did I dream it?

I just hate this. Hearing stories about young kids who speed and a death occurs from it. Makes me so mad...

    My daughter is 9.
I tell her EVERY SINGLE TIME a teenager is killed from them speeding or someone else speeding. I'm installing in her head now that speeding is very dangerous.

My heart goes out to those families...that is just so tragic, and it could have been avoided too.... :(

I just found out about this accident, and I know the family. I feel so bad for them, this is a terrible thing to have to go through. Apparently the kids were in a band recital for school, and were running late. The parents were at school waiting for them, and started to worry when they didn't show up or answer cell phones...They went looking for them and came upon the accident. I cannot imagine what they are going through. My husband knows the family a lot better than I do, and is going to be there for them if needed. 3 years ago at this time, very good friends of ours lost their 9 year old daughter in an accident, and being there for them at that time was very important for us, and it was the most horrific thing you could ever witness. I truly feel horrible for what has happened. An honest mistake with terrible circumstances. Everyone hug your children today and tell them how much you love them! You just never know.

Please tell them the 4042 board is keeping them in their thoughts & prayers.
How terribly sad to come across the accident.

My kids are adults now and I still tell them to be careful and not to speed everytime they go out, I tell them it is always better to be late than to be dead! Do not speed, ok?

SUCH a sad situation - I feel so terrible for the families - and finding the accident...thats even worse.

So MANY times its the over-correction thing! When I took driver's ed (many, many moons ago), they had us practice running off the road and getting back on, not sure if they still do that or not. Alot of time the edge of the road really drops off and it can be difficult.

I can honestly see where that could come in handy on dates.

It seems to me that you hear this happening more and more. My 17 year old nephew just lost another friend from school this past weekend over in the Matthews/Monroe area. She was coming home at night, told her mom she'd see her in a few minutes and when a few minutes passed by, her father came to look for her only to find that she had been in an accident less than 100 yards from her house - she lost control coming around a curve. I hate that any parent has to lose a child and cannot imagine the grief that ensues. As old as my son is, I let him know each and every day that he is loved. My heart and prayers go out to all of them.

Wonder why all the 'secrecy' about the girl passenger's identity? They keep saying 'friends identify her as ........ but the police have not released her name.'
